I hear you, I wouldn't be surprised if they release it on the 25th of November. TCL updates suck!

Even Samsung who are known to be slow in updates pushed the November patch on my wife's Galaxy Note 9 10 days ago

conite said updates will be faster after oreo update. But still no monthly updates for my keyone lol. I'm one September security update since oreo and now it's late November.
Are there really some Key2's still on September? I thought it's their main focus point now since it's the newest model, aside from Key2 LE

12 of them are not. and the newer LE is even worse with over 20 models still on September, despite being the newest device

Many of those 12 are not yet in production.

Likewise for any LE on its pre-production build.

Only include a device if it's received at least one update.

Ok conite but why are Bell, Rogers and Telus still on September? Does that not cover most of Canada?

Same as always. Canadian carriers wait for PTCRB certification.

ABJ755 just went up on its site, so I would expect something soon.

Whether they cover "most" of Canada, I don't know. Bestbuy, Amazon, BluShop, Walmart etc also sell them.

So this certification is not unique to Canada but is a case of Canadian companies wanting the certification? Does that mean that other carriers in other countries are not concerned about it?

That's interesting. So even with Bell, Rogers and Telus not included, you estimate >90% of KEY2s are on October?

These are all pretty round numbers. Maybe it's 80%. Hard to say exactly.

North American carriers have made a deal with them for certification so they don't each have to do it. Other jurisdictions around the world have countless other certification agencies and requirements.

I am on the June update for my DTEK50 running Marshmallow. Happy to report that despite not having the most current updates I have had no security or privacy breeches, no attempted OS hacks, or any other deeply feared system compromise that happens to basically no one ever.

In the BlackBerry KEY2 case, it's not just about security: these monthly updates also improve things, like the KEY2's photo quality, adding features like manual keyboard brightness, etc.
