Android 9 Pie - Is it possible the KEY2 might receive it early?
- Again, one individual steering the conversation away through deflection from what is indefensible "Statements" made and a whole lot of back peddling! Again and again starting comments and replies with"Not at All", "Not what we are discussing" ! The kettle certainly is calling the pot black! Here is 100% fact by observation!
1) No sign of PIE anywhere! Irrefutable!
2) No sign of a K3 anywhere! Irrefutable!
3) Zero communication from TCL/BBMo for months! Irrefutable!
4) North American Market abandoned! Irrefutable!
5) Confidence in the Brand eroding on all fronts! Pick a forum or Social Media outlet! Irrefutable!
6) Enterprise 3 years of support not honored on K1! Irrefutable!
If their "Very Good" business plan is to shut down and fold the tent, then their plan is working! Only the blind or a company shill would try and spin what the eyes see and the ears hear!
We are all addressing professionals here for the most part, no one has enough wool to pull over all eyes!
But please by all means, convince us we're wrong with your 10% of Imperial data and facts!
Spin is a beautiful thing, but does get tiring after a while!
It had to do with the decision regarding NA stock. Not pie. Not a KEY³. Not Enterprise Recommended.
You seem to be focused on what's best for the customer instead of being focused on what's best for the company (which is what I have been talking about all along). They don't always necessarily align. If TCL's best course of action is to turf BBMo, then so be it. Too bad for us. Likewise if TCL's best course of action is to not fully commit at this stage to a KEY³, then so be it. It is what it is.
Relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy life. The future will unfold in due time.Last edited by conite; 08-07-19 at 02:53 PM.
08-07-19 02:38 PMLike 0 - Again, just deflection! I implore you to add value to the discussion as it evolves and not just what might benefit your view point, agenda and talking points! Are you in?!?08-07-19 02:51 PMLike 0

My specific response to a specific post was being challenged by several people simultaneously, and I was responding. Why move the goal posts around mid-discussion?
If someone wants to start a new line of discussion now, or go back to the original topic, then no problem.08-07-19 02:57 PMLike 0 -
- No company wants any venture to fail and clearly they set up a whole different division called BBMo in the hopes of making it successful. Otherwise why bother and just run everything under TCL. By your logic, TCL will shut this thing down pretty damn quick given where things are at now. And I'm of the belief that they likely will.08-07-19 03:03 PMLike 0
- Here is what started this particular line of discussion:

And as far as the posted being focused on what is "best for the customer"....well it was BBMo and TCL who set that standard with their claims not anyone else.anon(10387168) and RK_BB like this.08-07-19 03:08 PMLike 2 - My logic has always been, the venture has to meet TCL objectives which aren’t completely known. I’m not sure if profits were or are the primary objective. They already owned the Palm name. I’ve always believed there was some component of desired carrier relationships.08-07-19 03:11 PMLike 0
- Sure it started with NA Key2 talk but the other stuff gets thrown in when the discussion shifted to how BBMo is conducting business and what to expect moving forward. You know these points of contention with everyone because they come up in every thread and you of all people should be aware since you spend more time on CrackBerry then Bla1ze and all of their Mobile nations staff combined.

In any event, it's over. Next topic.08-07-19 03:14 PMLike 0 - That's fine, you can disagree...but all those bunch up in to the same TCL discussion. Broken promises (if that is the case) are mistakes in my mind.08-07-19 03:16 PMLike 0
- Profits are the objective for the mobile TCT division. Licensing the BBMo name just small part of the overall strategy. Alcatel is licensed in a similar manner. Ultimately, did TCL license the brands for toxic non-value or publicity coupled with the carrier openings in the postpaid space for knowledge and experience? TCL has enormous resources but structured through it’s part ownership in TCT and further limited exposure under the BBMo entity.... Definitely an open dating relationship and not a marriage.08-07-19 03:18 PMLike 0
- The topic evolved as natural human interaction is known to do over 100 posts ago. Glad you're all caught up.08-07-19 03:18 PMLike 0
- It wouldn't be a mistake to not commit to a KEY³ if they don't plan on making one - or haven't firmly decided yet. Just an example.08-07-19 03:18 PMLike 0

If only BBMo could have released a $300 mid grade phone (DTEK50) and a $500 almost flagship phone (DTEK60). Do wonder what if was that TCL "learned" with their part in the manufacture of those, that got them to sign up?08-07-19 03:19 PMLike 0 - Profits are the objective for the mobile TCT division. - Wait what now?? lol. So the phone coming in 2020 is not a commitment now? You sighted that several times on here. Or Pie coming to Key2? Not a commitment? Both those things could still happen by the way but as of the info/signs we have today....not looking good08-07-19 03:22 PMLike 0

- They appear to have controlled everything so tightly regarding expenses that I question whether it’s profits or minimize losses building out a TCL/Palm long term strategy. Alcatel is being phased out for TCL brand with carriers in middle of trade war. No other Chinese OEM has the carrier relationships of TCL in USA right now.08-07-19 03:26 PMLike 0
- Yes i know that. But you have continually replied to people with a quote from some exec stating an expectation on another device later this year or early 2020. I've never taken any word from any fast talking exec from any company let alone BlackBerry or BBMO lol. You however have been preaching it as the gospel and now "nothing happens till is happens" lol. Your confidence in them seems to be wavering a bit.08-07-19 03:27 PMLike 0
- No worries boys and girls. They are Chinese companies operating in China! That means that they have all the intellectual property appropriated and ready to roll out on the cheap! No licenses, no fees! I am convinced we will see a BlackBerry like device shortly after BBMo folds its tent. When costs are low, you can service and profit from a niche market! As for carriers, they already have those relationships and can do what needs to be done to procure support with a truly mid level device at $399 or less. As another member stated, time will soon tell all!08-07-19 03:28 PMLike 0
