Evidently someone at BlackBerry Ltd is still at the helm... I just received some Beta updates for a handful of apps. Only bug fixes but nice to see... 👍

Yeah he said another update was maybe coming but pretty sure he indicated that it wouldn't be for several weeks until we would know for sure.

I believe you are referring to the Quid Pro Quo that TCL would update K2's to PIE and release a K3 depending on sales performance of said K2! Well discussed here. I believe the Promise if any, lies with TCL! Perhaps you should ask them? Of course, for me, TCL is DEAD, so really a moot point!

If TCL do release another operating system enhancement it is unlikely to be Android pie due to the number of problems that everybody was having with Android pie.
Android 10 on the other hand is another matter and could well be on our key2's during the next few months.

If it happens it would be kudos to TCL and enhance their likelihood of selling other phones to those of us with blackberries.

Leave them with good standing in our community.

If they release Android pie do is unlikely to be any updates for it if they release Android 10 the updates for Android 10 would come from Google and the updates for the BlackBerry elements of the system would come from Blackberry with a subscription model.

It will depend on how many subscriptions they sold.

But development has slowed to an absolute crawl.

Hope other countries outside the EU get this update. I am assuming the reason for the EU release deals with their laws being more strict than most other regions.

Only Asia and NA seem currently left out.

The former tends to get ignored longer, and the latter has extra steps to go through before release.

But that's not a PRD from NA.

Carrier and location is completely irrelevant. It's all about the PRD of the specific device variant you own.

Yes I can confirm. Both companies are still closed for business in Southend-on-Sea. As is The Pier.
