So the security update is coming from BlackBerry and not TCL.
That means BlackBerry Limited is still working with TCL.
Doesn't actually clarify anything really. Nothing has changed in how they report the updates from the Priv days. In either case, though, BlackBerry would have had to sign off on the update so whether or not BlackBerry was still working with TCL was never really a question.
BlackBerry is, however, being a bit misleading by not actually including which devices are eligible for the update. As it reads, the update notice they put out would lead people to believe ALL BlackBerry powered by Android devices are applicable, when in reality, they're not even though it's well within BlackBerry's technical capability to do so.
I used this app on the KeyOne when I had it to turn on the hidden mouse feature. It was a neat gimmick, but not super useful.
to be able to actually edit settings in that app, you need to run the following command via adb: adb shell pm grant by4a.setedit22 android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS 1
