Keyboard is still a discrete app, despite a suggestion to the contrary.

Hmmmm, what I know is that some have already experienced a relatively bug free performance on the PKB. Will wait it out for the OTA and hopefully, 7 months of pain and a less than BlackBerry experience will end with a whimper.

I didn't argue the fact that they may have indeed fixed the problem - only that it remains a discrete app, and is not embedded in the OS.

    From the ABO927/ABP242 app manifest:

    package: name='com.blackberry.keyboard' versionCode='497' versionName='3.4.1.16301' platformBuildVersionName=''

@Crusader03 @conite interesting stuff guys! It was me that started this talk regarding the keyboard app being integrated into the OS.

It may not be but for all I know and able to prove it is no longer in list of apps and therefore cannot be disabled / enabled or accessed for that matter which is what led me to think that BlackBerry inegreatd the functionality of the app into the OS.

Whatever they did, whether I am technically correct or incorrect, the experience is finally what I was expecting it to be when I purchased this device back when it launched.

Don't use if you are in China or Indonesia or otherwise carrier bound (ask with your PRD if uncertain).
As always, use at your own risk and let me know if you have any questions.

As always, wipe and no/wipe included. I have optimized the shell scripts for mac users to where i believe they should have no issues but let me know if you have problems.

    Instructions for first-time flashers:

Remove any screen lock from your device first.
Download the zip file in the OP. Extract it. Turn off your phone. Press and hold power and volume down until you see the blackberry bootloader screen. Plug in your phone to your computer. Open a command prompt in the folder you extracted the downloaded file (In the folder, hold ctl, shift, then right click and you should see "open command prompt (or powershell) window from here). Then type flashall.bat and press enter.

This is all presuming you are using Windows. This will do a wipe (if you selected wipe script) and install the new version. Let me know if you have any questions. If you are on a mac/linux run the .sh scripts in terminal (make sure you are running as admin and again that your screen lock passwords are completely removed). I have made some tweaks to the shell scripts to hopefully eliminate any issues for mac users. If you have issues, replace the bin/darwin and bin/linux with full platform tools.

So my idiot cousin decided to flash this one to his india Key2, PRD-63828-031, and yep, stuck on bootloader.. Any way to get it back and running?

Au contraire my Freind. This gem, stated from several sources seems to bear the BlackBerry Keyboard Holy Grail fix!!! The Crusade may be coming to an end. Cheers,
Sorry to say that I see that swipe up word replacement is still problematic.

    In what way?

I've found with this OS and/or the latest Keyboard app, not only has that cursor issue been resolved on my device, that the swipe up is more refined.

In fact I rarely used it before because I found each swipe had to be very deliberate, starting at the bottom of the keyboard and working all the way up, and in the middle I had to avoid the spacebar or it wouldn't register it at all.

Now the swipes can be very short, and swiping up in the middle even while starting on the spacebar works every time.

I've also noticed that once in cursor mode, scrolling L/R isn't as finicky, it's a little more controlled.

Anyway, that's just what I've observed on my Key2.

Thats a bit troublesome. My swipe up has always been way to sensitive, how was yours before? Also, perhaps we should discuss this back in the keyboard thread. I'll post there so we don't clutter this one. Cheers,

Hopefully it won't be too much longer for this update to get pushed OTA to my KEY2 PRD-63825-003. After I receive it then I can get involved in the PKB issues banter... hahaha Until then I will simply be tolerating the swiping issues I'm dealing with. My fingers are crossed when I receive the update I will get some relief.

Yes if he can wait until tomorrow night I'm traveling and can't afford to wipe right now which is required to get the Indian boot and recovery signatures. I'll definitely post an Indian version of the autoloader though since you aren't the first to ask.

is there any risk using this kind of loaders? is there a difference with the official build - meaning is it just a matter of time before TCL releases this officially to Europe?

A build is a build. If the number is the same, they are identical.
