Hi all,
I was thinking I would like to copy my notes to my laptop, but where are the notes stored?
If I was you, I'd copy and paste them in a document or email.
The files are probably in the app's folder... something like Android --> Data --> BB Notes?
Yeah that's the first place I looked but there is no folder specific to BB Notes. I just realised I could start saving notes in BlackBerry Password Keeper... Makes them encrypted at the same time too!
Pretty sure they are stored as app data with the app itself. It's not saved as a separate file like a text or document file.
I do wish there was some kind of export option to something like a .txt file to do exactly like what you are asking about.
One of the reasons I hate iOS is everything is stored as app data within an app.
Wish notes stored its data in a file so we can back it up.
Yes exporting the notes would definitely be an improvement of the app! And maybe a different sorting view.
But actually, I am going to try and save my notes in BlackBerry Password Keeper by default. I use that app daily and am used to exporting the database every few days/weeks. Maybe this works for me too.
My new KEY2 has "Locker" and I really would like to be able to add private notes directly to Locker, but so far no such luck. This will be an obvious thing to do in the near future, right BlackBerry?
This is my single biggest complaint with apps nowadays. I wish Google would mandate that all apps offer the ability to export data to a universal format (csv, txt, etc). It's my data, and I should not need your app to access it. Until we have better interoperability, mobile apps are a dead end IMO.

For those who may not be aware... BB Notes syncs perfectly with Outlook . com, O365, and other EAS accounts. Very convenient, and avoids having to worry about manual backups, etc.
This would be amazing indeed! But very unlikely to happen for all apps.. :(
Yes that's the whole point of the Notes app, other than that it's pretty useless.
Did they ever mention why they devoured Remember app into two separate instances?
Because of count number in their app catalog? Because it's Android and every single function needs to be an app?
Remember notes were not that great to begin with, existing notes were not very legible when you see them in the long listing, there was no option for some kind of cork board but sorting notes in folders was a nice feature. Task being grouped with Notes really did make sense and in that sense Remember was ahead of many Android Note apps out there.
Good people of BBRY Android development please merge Notes and Tasks into single app. I would like to ask you to include Notify as well but I'm not going to push it :rotfl:
I disagree with this. To me, tasks are things that need to be done on/by a specific time. Notes are pieces of information to be saved and referenced; usually at any time. Separate apps are fine for these different functions.
This is how I see it as well. I have thousands of notes that I use, but only a few dozen tasks at any one time. All if June are synced across BB10, Android, iOS and Windows via my O365 cloud Exchange service.
