It used to be that if you misspelled a word in the hub and tapped on it, you could immediately fix the spelling. I rarely got a list of spelling option with a tap, but I could at least manually correct it. Now I get the menu to add to dictionary or delete. For me, since I mistype fairly often, is much less efficient. I would prefer something like if I touch the misspelled word that I can fix it manually; if I double tap, I get a list of alternative spellings, and then maybe, with a long tap, that menu to add to the dictionary. If this is too much, then go back to how it was.

Check you keyboard settings. Mine automatically corrects the word when I press the spacebar. That is how I have it set.

Thanks, mine is set that way, too, but I type a lot of technical terms that my dictionary doesn't yet know.

Okay, in those cases, I get it. Mine acts the same way, I just know I need to check it myself. If you are using technical terms that aren't in the dictionary, then add them when given the option and make your life easier in the future.

BTW, all you need to do is tap the screen anywhere but the popup dialogue and you can correct the word manually.

Do you remember when it worked better? I'm not sure if this change in behaviour was caused by a change to the Android System WebView, Hub, or BlackBerry Keyboard.

I believe it was two keyboard updates ago. I do get beta updates.

Correct way to interact with underlined misspelled word is to tap on it to get the manual cursor and the list with suggestions at the same time while option to Add to dictionary is at the bottom of suggestions. That way there is no need for double taps, long holds or any non intuitive interactions. BB10 has this covered properly.

the way it is now, if there is misspelled word that BlackBerry doesn't know, which comes up frequently with technical language, you have to tap the word, then tap elsewhere to get rid of the menu, in order to then fix the typo.
