Anyone finding the Contact slow to open in BlackBerry Hub plus? The email app is the best along with Password Keeper.
Yep, and I've noticed it's been slow for a while now.
In fact, I just counted that it took approx 6 seconds from the time that the headers all appeared till the time that the contacts populated. And I've only got 120 contacts.
My version is: 1.5.5.13417
Edit
Priv, asia pac, 3
Edit @LiamQ
My version is 1.5.3.13112 on an unlocked NA GSM KEYone
and my contacts app opens and finishes populating my list in less than 2 seconds... closer to a little over 1 second.
I have a total of 218 contacts with 215 from google and 3 on SIM.
Mine opens in less than a second and I have over 1,350 contacts on an office365 account. Using BlackBerry software on a Samsung Galaxy S8 +
Version please
1.5.5.13417
Wow, what different experiences we have with the same version. I'm on the priv.
Android is very particular about setup. May want to reset and set up from scratch being careful to only setup accounts from the hub. The exception being your main Google account.
With android there is much duplication risk. And duplication burdens resources.
As far as I can recall my accounts are only set up from the hub.
I'll see what happens next update.
Good stuff...I will try to reset my accounts. Even with a slight lag it is still very good.
Which carrier? That's another variable that can affect Contacts.
My fast to open contacts app is thru AT&T.
Thanks for responding liam 😀
I'm in aus, on optus. (Factory unlocked, unbranded asia pac priv)
I don't have an explanation for why it's slow on your device. If you can trigger a Bug Report just after Contacts finishes loading slowly, there might be clues in the log.
To send a Bug Report, you will need to enable Developer options (tap 7 times on Build Number in Settings -> About Phone). Then, in Settings -> Developer options, choose "Take bug report". If the option is greyed out, toggle "Enable USB Debugging", which should enable it.
Send the Bug Report to [email protected].
@liam_q Email containing bug report, and link to this thread, sent.
You are named in the subject heading.
My contacts took approx 6 seconds to populate after headings in situ.
Thanks again. 😀
@liam_q I am unable to search in Blackberry contacts. Specifically most of my favorites are unsearchable (ones i use the most!); and others (non faves) as well. Contacts are in the list but I can't scroll thru hundreds of contacts to find people, its so time consuming! Any idea how to fix this? Saw some people making same complaint in android store reviews. It's driving me crazy. Please help!
Can you find any of your contacts by searching?
Could you send a Bug Report to [email protected] shortly after attempting to search in Contacts? To send a bug report, you will need to enable Developer options (tap 7 times on Build Number in Settings -> About Phone). Then in Settings -> Developer options, you can tap “Take bug report” and share that with an email client. If the option is greyed out, toggle “Enable USB Debugging”, which should enable it.
Yes, I can. But not all of them. For example, if I start typing the letter "M" I see some "M" names but not the one Im looking for and if i type in the full M name, it's not there. But if i go to contacts and scroll, its there. I will try to do this. I tried a bunch of stuff on the phone; I tried joining contacts that had separate email and phone numbers, (as sometimes one would show and the other would not) and this worked for those contacts, but then it showed those contacts THREE times in the list. I'm taking a break from troubleshooting this for a day or two so I don't smash my phone in anger, and then I will get back to it. in the meantime if you have any suggestions pls let me know. I installed "Truecaller" after I had this problem, which I didn't have linked to my contacts, but I linked it to my contacts and they all show up fine in there. But then I unlinked it bc that app gives me the creeps. I dont' want to have to use a third party dialer, after all, this is a PHONE first before anything! Thanks.
@liam_q Hi I did not forget, still having this problem, will try to send you bug report tonight. Thanks.
@liam_q Sent it this morning.
