The evolve x if ever released wont have much if any software support from what we have seen while the pixel will get updates for atleast 3 years. That alone would be the reason to never look at the Evolve

That's the problem. The Evolve X is yet to exist (9 months and counting), so where's the logic comparing against one that does. Suppose some like to dream tho lol.

Naaa. I know very well the X is not releasing. This comparison was done just to show those hypocritical people how stupid their argument over high price and specs was. And how the argument 'No one bought the Evolve because the price was too high' is. If your name pulls crowd you can sell anything.

I was gonna say I still get updates on my key1 and 2 (both made by Optiemus for India) but then I realised the last patch I have is of December 2018. So yes. Your argument is very valid!

The same argument is being made about the Pixel 3a in India, it's a very expensive phone compared to what else is available on the market.

Get your point...
There's a lot to be said about "delays" and "timing" as well. Great way to taint a name, plus lose momentum, if those two are always forefront.

So what does that say about the BlackBerry name?
The issues isn't as much the name, but the company standing behind it... and that's not BlackBerry.
Price is too high... you picked one western brand device that clearly has import fees stuck on it, and no indicator that it's even doing well there.
Compare it to the Xiaomi Poco F1 or Asus Zenfone 5Z or Vivo V15 Pro or Nokia 8.1 - heck even Samsung has a more competitive product. Galaxy A7 (2018) is a 2.2 Ghz, 4GB Ram, 6" AMOLED, 24MP Cam.... and it's only 15,990 - half the price.
I don't think the Brand carries enough weight to overcome it's price point.
i have recently bought evolve but apart from build quality there is no reason to love this.
1. O.S features are almost none
2. No photos/app locker exist
3 poor.battery backup (18hours after full charge,)
4 camera app crash, night shot pathetic
5. No features like, 3 fingers screenshot, quick on call recording, face unlock very bad, fingerprint reader don't respond sometimes.

This isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for the Evolve or potential X or any other future devices....

I have used the Evolve for over 6 months
Not having the locker app is no big issue
Battery last 24 plus and as a heavy user it meets my needs . The main drain is Bluetooth
The last update fixed the camera issues and with a little practise images are clear .
Face recognition works super fast and so does finger print unlock.
Not sure why there is a variation but thus far the Evolve is superior to the Motion and Key series .
As to the Price, the Evolve costs less than either the Motion and Key series.

If you think this you don't know the Indian market my friend. People (Including me) bought the BlackBerry for BBM. Just for the exclusivity and the 'name' of the brand. It was after using it that I felt in Love with it. In India. The name carries most of the weight! People blindly buy the IPhone here which cost 60,000 to 1,25,000.. That's like yearly income of some people. People buy the phone on EMI's. Just because of its name.
And the case is no different with BlackBerry. People buy BlackBerry only because of two factors.
1) Nostalgia
2)Keyboard
That's it. If you get into the spec's to price ratio. Even the Key1 & 2 are not worth the price!

To each their own. Check Amaroni's reply. It is completely opposite to the one by Avant.
it's upto you if you have to see the good or the bad.
look at the reviews of the iPhone. Look at its spec's. They're pathetic compared to a flagship android. But look at its sale. At the end of the day it's the sale's number which matter!

Look other than the face unlock. You can get a third party app for everything.
18 hours is a very good battery backup compared to other phones in the market!
Camera app was fixed in the latest update according to the forums. But if it's still a problem use the Google camera! It's really good!
