The pricing is ridiculous and even the Nokia phones are priced better and competitive range . Dissappointed 🙍 was expecting evolve to be 15,000 to 16,000 .

If they price it at that, then optiemus won't have revenue to pay licensing costs to BBMo (TCL), nor provide Amazon enough incentive to carry this on their website.

Yes, evolve has just SD 450 processor, the same processor phones starts from 7k (redmi) to vivo 16k. But Bb has priced it as 25k.
Similary X has 660. It should be priced around 25-27k. Since Mi A2 is going to release the same spec model on Aug 8th around 20k. We all know how good A2 series will be.
Even azus zenfone 5z, with SD 845 is priced around 30k.

They could have priced it at a maximum rate of even ₹18000 for evolve and would have been reasonable for us to buy . Same way for EvolveX . then it would have been a hell of a competition in the market. Look at Nokia's growth in a short period of time .

So much for 'aggressive' pricing? How exactly are they aiming to compete with phones like OP6? :/

To compete with redmi and one plus. Even Asus understand the pricing and released max pro m1 to compete note 5 pro and zenfone 5z at 30k against OP.
I thought TCL products are over priced and optiemus being here will make a good price. But they are out of zone by the price.

"Technical Guruji" channel covered these phones:

The video is in Hindi and essentially just bashes the manufacturers regarding the cost. The Indian mobile phone market is too sensitive to pricing and I don't know how these phones will do well.

Looks like a difficult sell at these prices.
Same issue that BlackBerry faced and now it's licensees face.
For 25K no one would pick up the Evolve but rather the Nokia 7 Plus.
For 35K everyone would pick up the 1+6 instead of the Evolve X.

In India, they are aiming to capture 10-12% market share for the 25k-40k smartphones by year end: http://www.bgr.in/news/blackberry-ey...ment-in-india/

I just hope they make significant sales to keep releasing devices in India.

As long as they have fuddu (paid youtube shills by competitors), Optiemus will never have an opportunity to make an appeal to even a minority of Android users about the enhanced security conscious features of BlackBerry Android and the reason why it costs extra.

Sony XA2 Plus is better priced than regular Evolve which is huge considering how Sony operates in top pricing level of midrange spectrum.

Neither phone has the physical keyboard as a unique selling point, which is the only real card in Merah Putih/Optiemus/TCL's hands. Without that, the differences between them and phones at the same price point tip the scales in favor of the competition.

There is a limit as to how much you can charge on security. The market can absorb a 25% premium. But will not absorb a 50% premium in the name of security.
Any rational consumer will not buy the Evolve X at 35K when he can get the 1+6 for the same Damn price!

Pretty good going against a Samsung flagship. Evolve is blowing out highlights in the sky, but seems to handle the reds a bit better (red is a difficult colour for sensors to process).
Without pixel peeping though the Evolve seems to hold its own.

Then 1+6 has a couple better specs, the evolve x has a couple better specs, it seems like it would be a toss up until someone can get a good comparison done.
