Good to know that's not a normal problem...

If the Motion was $499 instead of $599 I'd buy one right now. But I'm thinking about the Samsung S9+ instead because I can get a refurbished like new one for $799. I figured $200 more for a bigger better phone is not to bad.

Just have to look into it more, as security is very important to me.
And I don't know much about the Samsung

Samsung's security is pretty close to what BlackBerry did. The key would be how often your carrier pushes out the monthly updates that Samsung does. Unless you are getting a non carrier phone.

Most of Knox's features don't really kick in until the device is added to an EMM though. This makes it a bit different.

Supports 2 out of the 8 Bell and Telus 4G/LTE bands

Supports 1 out of 3 Rogers bands.

    Nasty.
25% of Bell LTE bands and 33% of Rogers'? Hmmmm... I think I might just take those odds if these are the same frequencies supported in the Evolve X.

So I imported the Limited Edition Black KEYone that Optiemus released back in Sep 2017 and it worked perfectly for me in Toronto. Used it for six months including trips to the US (San Fran, and Buffalo) without a hitch using Rogers SIMs in both trays.

I then imported the Bronze KEYone w the Arabic keyboard and it also worked flawlessly in Toronto and trips to the US (Vegas and Charleston).

Both the Limited Black and Bronze KEYones shared the same LTE bands as the Evolve with the additional bands 38 and 39 (not supported in NA anyway).

Conclusion: I think I have the green light to get the Evolve! Huzzah! Now I just gotta wait for Optiemus to release the Evolve X already!!!

Leapin Lizards I'm pumped for a Motion successor!

Another person mentioned about this phone on the main page here under a post ( I didn't even know it existed) here that it was available at a place called PDAplaza of which I've never heard of before so I looked them up on the web and asked if it works here and this was his email to me...

    " Hi,

Thank you for your interest. It works with all Canadian carriers except Freedom mobile.

    It will work as 4G+(LTE)

    Cheers,
    Alex

I didn't realize PDA was selling the Evolve. I bought my KEY2 dual Sim from them and was pretty happy with my experience.

Now I have to resist the urge to get the Evolve... mus wait for the X!!! And I'm not talking about the iPhone X either!

The Indian KEYᵒⁿᵉ has all the same bands as the NA models (-1):

    1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/19/20/28/29/30/38/39/40/41

The KEYᵒⁿᵉ Bronze EMEA has the same bands as the -2:

    1/2/3/4/5/7/8/13/17/20/28/38/40

    Evolve:

    1/3/5/7/8/40/41

Remember, Rogers uses 4/7/12, and Telus/Bell use 2/4/5/7/12/13/17/29

It says motion came out in November 2017 in Canada so I guess it ends support November 2020... so two months shy of 2 more years looks like.

I don't mind paying full price $599 like it was when it came out if I got a full 3 years support, I think they should discount it now since security support is under two years left. I personally feel like 4 years support should be the minimum...

Have you ever seen it on sale for less anywhere?
Seven or so months in my Motion (BBD100-2) received its security patches prior to months end and sometimes on the very last day, since Oreo though that consistency has fallen to the wayside. Took I believe a 3+ month hiatus last time before ending up on November's and now just waiting to see what comes next, and when. So is this a sign of what to expect for the remaining months (support being less frequent/more spaced) or is this just bumps in the road they need to overcome?

Now you could buy the Evolve, which is 100usd cheaper that the X, to see if it works and if it does get the X safely in the knowledge that it too will work 😁

Did I mention I typed that on my Evolve ? Great device 😂

$200 plus tax Canadian more... like I said, I can get the Motion on Amazon.ca for $599 New CDN or a Refurbished like new Samsung 9+ for $799 CDN from another store.

There were some bumps this summer with the release of two new devices and with OREO not being a smooth release. But here it is Jan 2019.... I think what is, is what it is.

IMHO, if "it is what it is" happens to turn into another 2-3 month delay before the next patch then "what is" will just be another strike (X) against BBMo/TCL. An about face here (compared to the beginning) definitely won't generate much positivity I can assure you of that.
