It's important to note that I asked him about WiFi Calling and VoLTE features on the BBB100-7 KeyOne as well, and he stated the same thing. Therefore, even though I confidently suspect that the BBF100-6 will work with T-Mo in the States (possibly AT&T), I doubt that these two features will be operational, same as our past experience with the Dual SIM KeyOne.

That said, we're back to square one. Someone has to actually purchase a BBF100-6 to the States and try it out and see If those two features will work. The Bands on the Dual SIM Key2, as with the Dual SIM KeyOne, do show it will work. We currently have 2 or 3 members on this forum using the India Dual SIM KeyOne's in CA and NYC with AT&T and T-Mo just fine... albeit, with no WiFi Calling or VoLTE.
Sorry if this has already been asked...

Do other Indian or Chinese model versions from different OEMs have the same problem as well? As far as WiFi calling goes, I can’t get it on AT&T, even with AT&T branded KEYone.

    LTE: 1/3/5/7/8/40/41
    UMTS: 1/8
    GSM: 850/900/1800/1900

So, American users shouldn't expect an imported device to get LTE (or 3G either), then. It might work in Canada though thanks to band 7.

This is good news though. 4 and 12 on the X make it a viable option for people that want to stick with BlackBerry.

Pretty sure that’s grasping at straws. The device is only intended to function in the places it’s licensed for to protect other licensees. BBMo/TCL doesn't expect competition from other licensees.

Uhhh what? People have been using devices on other carriers for as long as I can remember. How is this any different?

Carriers, licensees and regulators all have some control in the process of having bands approved. The Evolve X is not intended for normal use outside it's licensed markets. Optiemus is only in limited markets.

OEMs have to pay for licensing of technology... Qualcomm is so successful right now because they own so many of the patents on 3G and 4G technology. So every "band" added to a device is going to add to the cost of that phone. Optiemus only has the rights to sell BlackBerry phones in India... there is very little reason to add the cost of bands that aren't needed for the Indian market.

Sure if they had done so they could have sold more devices through black market means... but the realty is the Indian market is very price sensitive... it wasn't worth it.

Hmmm yeah well I understand for the local device manufacturers. But for « global phones » such as as the S9 or the iPhone, it’s just a huge pain.

I know it's a pain, customers don't like being limited if the want to change carriers or travel.
And OEMs don't really like having to make different variants. But there are lot's of issues with regulations and licensing that ends up dictating this.

There are thirteen variants of Samsung's S9, in addition to color and storage options. I'm sure Samsung agrees that it's a big pain.

    CDMA: 800, 1900 MHz
    GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
    UMTS: 2100 MHz

What carrier do you use it with?

So much for those who kept saying the Evolve won't work in the US

    Evolve 4G support: 1/3/5/7/8/40/41.

So, basically there is support for a SINGLE low-priority band on AT&T and TMO. I wouldn't exactly call that "working".

On AT&T, that means 50% of time you’ll be on faux g or HSPA+ in the old days if you’re lucky

I had trouble getting it to make phone calls so I used Google Voice for that and then I realized I had the APN settings wrong, but I didn't try it again cause I use Google voice for calls now.

    AT&T
    • Band 4 (AWS-1700/2100MHz): this band is used as a supplement for improved capacity and is usually deployed in small, 5x5MHz blocks.
    • Band 5 (850MHz): this band is used most commonly 3G (HSPA+ ) connectivity, but some of it also goes toward LTE. AT&T owns a lot in this frequency range throughout the nation, and band 5 is sometimes used in areas where there is no band 12/17 coverage.

Most cases WiFi should be faster.... while it is possible that at times you can find a faster LTE connection the latency is usually higher on cellular.

So has the device actually been tested and used for carrier voice calls with correct apn settings?
