Is there any place one can physically touch and fondle a DTEK60, or are Amazon and ShopBlackBerry the only options?

Not that I know of.
Online only. Your best bet is to search out a crackberry member in your area who has a dtek 60.
I have never seen another Passport, much less a DKET 60.

BlackBerry Shop at Brookfield Place in New York. Not that it's very convenient! Unfortunately, most devices since the Priv are pretty much online-only, so reviews or maybe bumping into a forum member are the best bets. I'm really surprised that a retailer hasn't picked up DTEK60 since the DTEK50 got some traction in retail stores.
I've been trying to get my hands on a DTEK60 to see how it feels... considering getting one after smashing my PRIV's screen for the 2nd time and not wanting to drop another $300 to fix it... bah.
I went to a Rogers store and asked the guy if they had a DTEK60 on display or in store and he said yes. He showed me a DTEK50. I was like "C'mon man....".
Sigh...
I've had mine for 7 weeks now, just received my 2nd security update and the phone is still blazing fast even with over 60 apps and 64GB SD card that's almost full.
No issue and best phone for the money spec wise not to mention all added BlackBerry bonus software, hub, etc.
Mine is still good as well, some small Knicks in the glass back but otherwise great.
I ordered on launch day, 3 timely security updates, and QuickCharge 3.0 is great.
To me this is a huge problem. BlackBerry could sell tons more Dtek60s if they were in a store somewhere. On-line only will keep demand very low.
Just noticed today that Dtek60 is available on line form both bestbuy.com and bestbuy.ca. Maybe they will have some in their stories soon as well.
Man I couldn't agree more. Put the thing out there and give it a catcher name, without changing the device, and I think people would buy in.
Agree completely. I just got my DTEK60 a few days ago and had to go to the ATT store for a new sim card (the one in my Z30 was too big). The sales girl had never seen the phone and didn't even know it existed. The more she looked at it and asked me about the specs, the more she liked it. In the end she was crazy about the phone. Too bad ATT doesn't sell it.
I didn't see the Dtek60 at Best Buy or on their online store. I think your mistaken.

It is on their web site:
Blackberry DTEK60 Unlocked LTE Android Smartphone 21MP Camera 5.5IN qHD AMOLED 4GB RAM 32GB : Android Phones - Unlocked - Best Buy Canada
Sold and shipped by "Memory House" though... so doubt we'll see it in any store. Says available on-line only. Also, cheaper to buy direct from ShopBB.
I got mine from B&H photo out of New York, and had it shipped to Germany(BestBuy, BB, and Amazon wouldn't ship). Price was the same at the time I bought it.

For some time it appeared that the DTEK50 was being sold by Best Buy, but I never saw one turn up in a US store even though the Best Buy website showed that inventory was 'coming soon' when you searched availability by ZIP. This was some months ago, but I never noticed one showing in stock at a local store.
I have two of them. Great phone. In GTA if you want to demo one.
I do but your username scares me.
LOL. Great response.

So 499 Canadian? Right
Shabbs if you are down near Burlington in your travels, hit me up.
I ordered mine from BH and it's due to arrive on Thursday which bums me out since I fly out of town for the weekend on Thursday morning.
The good thing is BH is an awesome online retailer with great prices and customer service.
