Is it an all touch or with a keyboard? Because I've been reading articles with different ideas on what the Argon is. Some say it's an all touch releasing in October while others say it's with a physical keyboard. Many are also saying that the keyboard one is going to be released next, which would mean Argon because that's what's going to be released next.

I would love to see the one with the physical keyboard device to be generously spec'd!

Interesting pictures! I've definitely never seen those! But it looks just like the DTEK50 except bigger..

Would you by any chance have any recent leaks of the one with the keyboard?

I agree. I think the whiz bang Argon is a re-branded and software augmented Idol 4S.

Doesn't match up with previous rumours though. Rumour says it gas a 820 lite, Idol 4s has a 652.

Not saying the Argon is going to be a rebranded 4S, but those pictures do resemble the 4S. The site is probably just guessing as to the look...

I almost mentioned that discrepancy. I hope you are right Toni. Besides the potential lower powered CPU, I am not a fan of the Alcatel cameras

    Idol 4S Pro uses SD 820 - https://twitter.com/evleaks/status/710256965679763457

Remember, BlackBerry can jam whatever SoC they want in there, as long as they want to pay for it.

And here it is running Android - https://gfxbench.com/device.jsp?benc...testgroup=info

Well in that case it isn't really "BlackBerry jamming the SoC in" but they are rebadging a different model.

But then all those damn slates look the same, so what's the difference. \_(ツ)_/

It's possible that they will use the 4S as a reference device but since they use custom chips, maybe going with something different than the standard issue 4S chipset. Afterall, they want a flagship to replace Priv, so this might be one way to do it.

EDIT: according to the course below, the 'TCL 950' sports a snapdragon 820 and might be sold seperate from its Alcatel 4S sister device. Specs all match up except for Processor and storage. Maybe BlackBerry will use the TCL 950 as a reference device?

Probably going to be manufactured elsewhere like all the others, but designed by BlackBerry. It won't be a reference design like all the others, since no one makes an off the shelf template for pkb devices, so manufactured to BlackBerry specs, but not reference design

The rumors say the Mercury will be the most premium device out of the three. So I'm guessing this device will be made by BlackBerry themselves, hopefully.

I'm pretty sure the mercury is mid range specs too (slightly better than dtek 50) but the materials will likely be premium.

I was waiting for the argon until i realized it was made by tcl too. the reviews for the idol 4s say the fingerprint scanner is awful. (that's the nail in the coffin for me)

Im hopeful for a red blinker, the BlackBerry software package, and a decent camera. Of course good price is important too. DTEK looked like it was priced alright so something inline with the higher specs being used would also work for me.

Well, BlackBerry has outsourced the manufacturing of its BB10 phones to outfits like Foxconn. As you know, the DTEK 50 is based upon an Acatel reference design, and also happens to be manufactured by Acatel. I for one, would not mind Acatel making the Mercury, so long as the PKB device is designed solely by BlackBerry, and hopefully includes its best PKB, which is the Classic one.

950 has the lame 1080p screen vs the Priv's QHD screen.

Hope BB ups the screen to match at QHD instead of sliding in with the stock 1080p travesty.

Oh my goodnes, you telling me the argon is another cheap ripoff from alcatel?

Sorry I won't be spending my money on that.

This is the direction the company is heading into? Just rebranding things? I'm sure alcatel and blackberry have some sort of deal about profit splits or so.

That argon looks ugly, so too the dtek50.

I'm not hating but it's clear the priv might be the last blackberryfied smartphone ever made. So the press wasn't too wrong on that one.

    Shameful. I'm not impressed.

This post just killed it for me.

Looks are subjective, I like how it looks personally. Secondly, DTEK50 and Argon are not rebranded, they are customized...there is a difference. With Alcatel, you won't get the monthly security patches, hardware root of trust, or the blackberry software productivity customizations. For me, yes, those things matter, but for you, if you don't place value on things like that, there are a plethora of other choices out there.
