Why do we need a visual voice-mail app on these android phones when my Z30 just has it baked in. I didn't even have to set it up. It just works.

BlackBerry takes an approach to include a lot of functions in the OS that I for one thought should be left out for developers to do an app. BlackBerry takes this approach either they prefer it this way or they are forced to do it this way because no one will build an app for it if they don't do it. Android takes a slightly different approach. The Android approach is about choice. Google builds an OS to include only basic functionality and lets developers build apps for additional functions. I prefer the Android approach because I don't want the OS to be bloated with functions that I don't use. VVM is one such function. If Google took the BlackBerry approach with Android, we might never have a BlackBerry Launcher or BlackBerry VKB on an Android phone.
