I see the DTEK60 on BlackBerry's website says only USB 2.0. What are we missing out on given that there is USB 3.0 on the Pixel phone?

All I care about is fast charging which it does superbly. Transferring of files difference between 2.0/ 3.0 - you're talking seconds different with the typical file sizes you will have on a phone so no great shakes really.

The limiting factor on file transfer speed is very unlikely to be a USB2.0 connection; that's 480Mbps, which exceeds the sustained performance of most I/O systems on a phone (to either a memory card or internal memory)

Doesn't quick charge 3.0 only require the special charger / adapter and a Qualcomm chip that supports it? I don't think it depends on the port type or cable and should work with USB Type A as well: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/sn...ick-charge/faq . So USB 3.0 just has higher speed for data transfer through USB cable.
