I keep getting a notification that my calendar has been updated to adjust to the time zone, but I haven't moved time zone. Any ideas about this issue?
I just turned it off. In the calendar app > settings > show timezone switch notifications
I constantly get the same notification.
And I get that turning the notification off will eliminate the nuisance.
But that doesn't answer the question. Why does it keep thinking time zones have changed when they haven't?
Further... the nuisance for me is having to turn it off...because I do actually change time zones alot...so it's annoying to have to disable a feature I oughta be able to use.
Hmm. Glitchy
Probably coming from your carrier... let me guess - AT&T?
Nope
I wonder where you are... could be that you live by the coverage edges of two different antennas that have different time zones?
It pops up on boot for me but I've yet to have it spam me with time zone change notifications.
Note that *one* notification on boot, if the phone isn't keeping a NV clock when off, isn't unreasonable (since it IS setting the time zone when it gets cell service.) There are good reasons to not have an NV clock going in an "off" device if it doesn't have "wake-on-time" functionality (from off) such as a cell phone that inherently gets network time; not only do you require the RTC chip you also need a power source for it. Remember the old Z10 and its soldered-on battery? I do..... and that will get very un-pretty if that soldered-on cell leaks!
It's not just once at boot...but 4-5 times a day...without ever turning it off.
And no other phone I've ever had does this...including Priv and DTEK50.
And I live in almost the center of my time zone.
Well I've never had it happen other than at boot on the DTEK60. But it does, reliably and every time, on boot.
If your carrier flips the timezone offset -- even momentarily -- you'll get the notification. That's not under the phone's control; it gets it off the network.
I've been on the same network for over a decade... with at least 9 different phones including Priv and DTEK50. Never happened before.
As ^^^^^^ said. It's in the BlackBerry calendar app. Turn it off in settings in BlackBerry Calendar
What if we want them to show when they actually occur... as they do for me about every other week?
I travel through multiple international time zones about every other week. So I don't want it turned off. I just don't want the nuisance notifications when I have NOT actually changed time zones.
Yep. My wife's 60 did it until she turned the notification off. I never had the issue with my 50.
The issue if you can call it that is in BlackBerry Calendar app , not the device.
So then no fix to stop the blackberry calendar app from persistently notifying me of a time zone change when there is no timezone change?
Thanks,
Chris
Calender settings and turn on use device time zone. Turn on or off the notification up to you. Fixed the problem for me
You didn't try what was suggested.
As stated above go into BlackBerry calendar settings and uncheck the "Show timezone switch notification"
This will work.. Everytime you power on and off it will notify you otherwise..
