Security updates - BlackBerry Support

Like many here I haven't received any security update on the DTEK since May. So yesterday I decided to take this up with BlackBerry help on twitter.

They asked for my IMEI and checked if it was eligible. After that they gave me the regular BS of carriers scheduling the updates and blablabla.

So I decided to involve the different carriers twitteraccounts I own a simcard of. They confirmed they don't do any check of android security-updates pushed by a hardware vendor.

All of a sudden I got a PM from BlackBerry help to contact Tech-support by phone. They created a ticket after I explained what was going on. I'll keep you all posted about the outcome.

I'm glad they are looking into it for you. I'm in the same boat so hopefully your work on this will help me as well.

I went through that process not too long ago. Eventually they fessed up and admitted that the June patch wasn't available. This was back in late June, if I recall correctly. Nothing really came out of it, but it was nice to get a straight answer.

Hopefully someone can explain what's going on with your update though, as I did get the June patch a couple of weeks ago. I don't understand why some DTEK60 users got it an others didn't.

I still don't have it. checking every day. should I have registered my phone somewhere? like BB protect?

Best guess: They pulled it.

I received the June update about 30 mins ago after doing restart of my phone.

Maybe if everyone that didn't receive the update would complain to them on twitter, it might cause some ruckus :)

I have a Priv, but received a June and July update -- are the DTEKs different?

The DTEK50 should be on June or July (not sure how complete the rollout is), while the DTEK60 should be on May or June (ditto).

I just got the june update today. Next week it's August :-s

I just finished installing the update (I got the notification this morning) and I am now on the June 5, 2017 Android security patch level. The build number is AAM326.

What the... why is BlackBerry a month or two behind on the DTEK devices?

I think I finally understand why the june update didn't get pushed. Ever since the update my DTEK60 is slow, laggy, battery sucks.

They just kept it quiet.
