I have a Dtek60 unlocked that I'm using on Rogers. I have LTE functioning well until I make a phone call. When I do this the phone switches to 4G. After I hangup it switches back to LTE.

I don't know why but it seems to work this way no matter what I do!!

***Nevermind I just realized that Rogers does not allow Volte on the Dtek60. That's why I can't call on LTE!***

That's normal unless VoLTE is up and running. I don't think Rogers turned on VoLTE for the DTEK60, probably because they don't sell it.

How about Bell? And what is lost if it switches down to 4G?

Bell only has it for iPhones and the Galaxy S6. And it's just bumping down network speed, since voice calling is still over the old pre-LTE network.

And before anyone asks, Telus VoLTE is only for the LG G4 and Galaxy S6, and only in parts of Alberta and BC.

I am on Telus and I don't think I am getting LTE either. Is there anything we can do about that other than getting a device from the phone company?

    LTE or VoLTE?

I'm using a DTEK60 on Telus (Toronto-ish), and I get LTE fine, just not VoLTE.

Using my DTEK60 with Fido's data plan (on Rogers network) for $15/3GB per month (no voice plan, just data). I use Fongo for voice calls and it's been working great....nice cheap monthly phone plan.

Everything works the same, only thing you won't get is WiFi calling if they don't support it

Should be fine regardless if phone is supported or not.

No problems with an unlocked Dtek60 on Rogers. The only problem is 4G calling. No VoLte which is unfortunate.

Try Fongo. Free calling basically anywhere in Canada over Wifi. Texting cost $$ or is free to other Fongo users. Its great and I use it all the time. Only available in Canada.
