For those who use manual mode, what settings is the most ideal for exposure, is, white balance, etc?
It depends on the situation. It can vary wildly.

Well, I have the Priv and I can tell you the rear camera takes excellent pics, and offers that "little bit of brightness and happiness" in its pics. However, as some critics have noted, it's because Priv photos are slightly over saturated (i.e. vivid colours). I have a feeling the DTEK60 offers a "truer" presentation of colours, but you can always edit your pics post-production! 😉

I haven't had a Bkackberry yet that had a "bad" camera. That might be because I'm not as professional or nit-picky as other users. If it is clear and bright with strong detail it's at least an B grade camera to me.

True, both my Passport SE and Priv had excellent rear facing cameras. The front facing 2MP cameras, however, leave something to be desired....

I've noticed the same thing but you can use the exposure compensation slider below the image to increase the exposure when you are taking the picture.

Nothing set up, Dining Room table on a sunny day. Auto mode ( point, shoot). No lights used.

Jeez, such monkeyness going on in here.
You can clearly see the difference between 60 and Priv. Priv being colorful and happy out of the box, and 60 being dulled out out of their box.

Without assuming people are purposely sabotaging or brainwashing the public opinion by editing 60's pictures to look dull, there absolutely no way the 60's pics "look" better.

If people want bright and vibrant, that's their perspective. Sadly, B&V without any editing and simply pointing and shooting is the de facto expectation from the masses. And that's why iOS and S6 and the like have delivered that. I'd go out on a limb and say 95% of us actually like B&V pictures.

And so far, with all things equal, 60's pictures are slightly inferior to those of Priv's in the B&V department.

I don't know why all the "pro reviewers" get stuck on all the technical things and declare a device's camera to be better or worse but never realize that the common folk like us like B&V pictures and don't give a damn about the stupid specs that they jizz about.

I'm a B&V person and I'm sad that the DTEK60 doesn't have a good rear camera picture render than the PRIV.

    Out.

Good quality, close ups are good, lots of detail when zooming in on pictures taken, fast focus, but a little on the dark side.

I agree with some people that pictures on a Samsung or a Priv more colorfull, vibrant but when It comes to take a good pictures all camera has there best point in some situation. The DTEK60 seems to have great and sharp pictures but they are not vibrant enough, people say still too me it looks natural and you can use photo editors to vibrant and colorfull up pictures. So I must rather use the dtek60 camera than a Iphone that is ghosting or making not that sharp pictures or a camera that is to vibrant.

I think it's the same like the Television. I like my expensive 5 years old philips TV (natural colors) and my family loves the Samsung TV with more vibrant and jumping colors. Still everytime they visit they always saying that my pictures on tv are so sharp.

So everyone likes it different and sometimes people seeing colors also different .

As I have indicated in my other posts, I agree that the 18MP camera on the Priv produces excellent vibrant photos. However, as others have indicated, this because they are a bit oversaturated. I just hope the DTEK60 cameras are decent...
