    Pictures taken with the DTEK60-img_20161027_101512.jpgpassport

Touched screen to focus on steelseries booklet. The booklet is slightly on an angle. Maybe 25degrees from vertical tilted towards the camera. these were in auto mode

Tried everything from manual mode to auto. Can't get it to focus well on close objects in cases like this.

I have called service. They actually escalated mY case to engineering. My issue is on their minutes now. I hope to have this resolved soon. Will let you know.
I personally think it's software. Maybe pdaf or something.

I believe that low light stationary object photos will be better on the priv and passport compared to the DTEK because both former phones have OIS

How does the pixel take nice focused low light shots? I thought the pixel has no OIS?

Disappointing results. One thing that friends with iPhones and Samsungs always get me with is their fast and sharp picture taking abilities.

BlackBerry needs to get their camera act together. We know security is number one but if they want to sell some phones to the general public the camera needs to be good.

Since they aren't making any more phones, it's a moot point.

The DTEK60 camera is VERY fast. I have tried to measure the speed by recording video of the screen while taking a picture, and the thumbnail shows up often before the screen finishes flashing.
I suspect the problem photos posted by Julesan are from a device with problematic hardware.

I'm getting a little worried with the camera on the DTEK60. Hopefully not everyone is having problems and its only a few select devices with maybe hardware problems. Who knows.

Hard to tell if this hardware related or software. Some people aren't experiencing any problems, others can't seem to focus before the DTEK60 takes the shot, hence the blurred pics.

Also that DTEK60 beside the Passport. That passport is letting a lot more light in the lens than the DTEK60.

My question is why was my dtek using ISO 420 on a flash shot when my passport was using ISO 74.

Maybe flash was not timed with shutter? Something was happening.

Anyway if others have some pictures I would love see them.

Great! Desperate for any information with respect to DTEK60 cameras quality. I have had the Z30, the Passport SE, and the Priv. The Passport SE and Priv both have really good cameras.... Wondering if the DTEK60 21MP camera is at least as good!

Take a picture with the flash on something with writing like a book. Do it from about 2ft away and not straight at the book. If text is sharp than we are good

From what others have shared the camera inside the DTEK 60 is two years old. Pictures will not measure up to current flagships.

Why would they put a 2 year old camera inside the DTEK60? Everything about that phone screams specs and flagship. This is concerning.

Probably a stupid and obvious question... but did your unit come with that little clear protective sticker over your camera lens and if so, did you remove it?

I'm sure you have... in which case, sorry to hear about your camera problems.
