My ETA for the security patch delivery is +3 weeks from the actual release time. I guess this month I will have no update at all.

Also, BBry removed the only official DTEK60 autoloader from their official help site. What is going on?..

1). The autoloader was so old it was bricking devices.
2). OS support for DTEK device has been handed back to TCL

So you're saying Dtek60 is a Brick now. Not even a year old yet. Apple still putting out old devices and updating. My sister decided to pay for her device Apple SE and ditch BlackBerry after I let her use my Blackberry phone for free. She was tempted to get Dtek50 ,but I told her don't bother when you can get phones around same price with updates. I'm happy with my Dtek60 , but have other BlackBerrys to satisfy my cravings.

Nobody seems to have told them that, that's the problem. The only mention of the DTEKs on the BB Mobile website is a brief mention in regulatory compliance. Although, not even the KEYone has the OS reload page up and running, let alone the DTEKs.

You have an odd definition of a brick.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I won't pretend to know the back and forth there in its entirety.

Agree, time does heal though. I'll get over it and move on to another BlackBerry. Keyone and Motion is nice but I'll wait for the next one. Hopefully they will call it the BlackBerry "Passion" because BlackBerry is my Passion fruit.

A loyal BlackBerry fan through the ups and downs . I guess that was a test for me the Dtek60, which really is not a Blackberry.

Still, even when the October security update (or whatever future security update) will be rolled out, will that solve the KRACK issue that was presented this morning by the University of Leuven in Belgium this morning?

Maybe, maybe not. The private disclosure was in July, so manufacturers had some time to respond.

Edit: According to Google, the patch level that fixes this is November 6, 2017.

Cool. I wasn't sure what build it was. At least it's something! It was very dry for along time, lol

I believe that's highly unlikely. And to the best of my knowledge(I might be really wrong here), ALL members of Wi-Fi interaction must be fixed, or else exploit will work using the identity of the vulnerable device.

That's my reading as well. So I'm curious if ZTE and KPN will roll out a patch soon as well for the router... Don't even know wether that's possible? I'm not very technical...

    Google has, therefore BB will.

Unless BB skimp out on the patch level and supply November 1/5.

Apple didn't announce they were getting out of the hardware business, before releasing their next phone. I really don't get the surprise by some that the DTEKs have been forgotten.... When the DTEK50 was launched Chen had said they were talking about it, when they launched the DTEK60 it had already been decided.

Be thankful that monthly updates come... every now and then.
