well I guess that's it for dtek60 updates the phone is a year old
    I wouldn't say that.

I fully expect a November patch with Krack fix.

Amazing that my Dtek50 already got Oct and my Dtek60 didn't. The 60 is always at least a month behind the 50 :-(

Same here. My wife's 50 has Build AAQ649 listed as patch level November 6 2017. I am assuming this is October patch.

My 60 is still on AAO562 which is August patch.

    AAO562 is Sept 5. That's what I have on my Dtek60.

If you were me, and you had both a 50 and a 60, would you switch your SIM back into your 50, which just got Nov, or keep using the 60 and not worry about Krack?

I would probably keep using the DTEK60, but not use public WiFi for a little longer.

Krack is not insignificant, but the actual chance of being targeted is rather small.

Thanks. I'll try to remember to turn off wifi when I'm out.

I think about using an external criteria in your case. I guess that it is safe to assume that you personally will not be targeted, therefore chances to bump into a KRACKed WiFi are driven by:
    1) the quality of the WiFi access point: judge on your own how much the owner cares and how much he can invest into security;
    2) other users of WiFi access point: if the internet access is a hot dog provider's add-on near business center - that's a decent place to fish with KRACKed equipment - so using WiFi there is not a very smart option.

Yeah, and if you have reasons to think that you can be personally targeted - talk to your security consultant or just dig up your OS10 device until the issue is fixed.

Next wednesday my DTEK60 won't be my daily driver anymore after 11 months only.
Maybe it will serve as a backup device.

I'm retired, so I don't have a security consultant. I'm tempted to use my beloved Z30, but I have gotten used to the Dtek60.
I'm trying to follow Conite's advice, and turn off wifi when I'm not home. Problem is, I forget to turn it back on. LOL.

Personally I feel that (although I am responsible for secure behaviour) a company is responsible for patching these kind of things. And to do so asap. Especially when the product is carrying the BlackBerry name. Exactly that is the reason why I believed I took my responsibility on the matter of secure behaviour... I chose a BlackBerry product. It still feels like a slap in the face when those updates come with so much delay...

It would require BB to open up the bootloader, which they aren't going to do.

I suspect that October will be sent out by end of November or early December. Seems to be the pattern for DTEK60.

the original BlackBerry is now only a software company and still can't get the last phone sold by them to receive monthly updates on time.

I think it's time to shutdown this phone after barely 12 months of usage. no security updates for dtek60 for October or November!

I've been waiting for the pixel xl 2 before making a decision and I was hoping that some miracle would happen to this dtek60 so I can hold out for awhile longer... guess that's it for BlackBerry and myself... I still haven't read any policy from blackberry or tcl about how long they would support a new phone with security updates and it's updates, so I refuse to buy another blackberry for putting me in this situation of having to purchase another phone less than 12 months later.
