Is there a way to change notifications sounds to something else other than the ones that are defaulted in the fone?

Paste the sound in notification folder on internal memory. Change from setting. Done.

Forgive me for hijacking this thread,
Is it possible to have a "silent" function attached to a contact, as with BB10? Especially for recognised spam callers.
I noticed the "send to voicemail" function - but I don't want to be listening to them on my voicemail, unless they have the patience to wait 15 or 20 seconds - and they usually dont.

    OK.
To answer my own question, this is how I did it...
I downloaded a simple voice recorder app.
Recorded 30 seconds of total silence (by setting my microphone to mute) and pressing record.
    Names it "silence".
Then, connected a USB cable to my PC, and set phone to "allow file transfers" (click on the notice that says: "connected in charging mode" first, to bring that option up!
On the PC, click on the "computer" option from the start button and then select your phone.
Open the voice recorder file, copy the "silence" file.
Then, just paste it into "ring tones" file.

"Send to voicemail" is the better option; they won't leave a message 99 times out of 100. Although the "silent" ringtone also works.....
