Im only half kidding. I read that TCL bought the rights to WebOS, for smartphones. Those of you who have not been here a while, might not understand that a lot of the flow of BB10 seemed to have been copied from WebOS. It could be a great phone, Who knows???

Technically, webOS runs on the Touchpad, Nexus4 and Nexus7 and Galaxy Nexus. It's entirely possible it could run on the DTEK50 if the security provisions were removed and someone cared enough to do it, but yeah. Those security provisions won't be removed and no one cares enough lol. Let webOS RIP on LG TV's.

Pretty much and BlackBerry will be lucky if it can license BB10 in such a way that webOS has been put to use these days.

I remember the uproar when BB10 peak and flow were said to have stolen from Web OS..... sigh.... the good ol days. LOL

I can remember when the BB10 "purists" cursed to high heavens the inclusion of Android runtime. When Snap/Cobalt's came along, they were considered the greatest thing since... ummm... sliced bread?

I remember, when webOS even had an emulater app, where you could even run PalmOS apps...

Still have an HP Pre3 and even my father uses it, I sometimes play around, the touch-sensitive 'toolbelt' below the screen is unreached still...

I'm almost certain they were just buying it to avoid HP suing them for using the name Pixi.

And on top of that LG owns webOS right now.

I can only say that I would be interested in any phone that ran webOS.

I'm always left wondering if Blackberry could have teamed up with Palm in 2009, instead of just adopting some features for BB10.

yeah I don't know how secure the WebOS foundation is for BB purposes but it would have been nice to see what they could have done with it instead of selling it to HP where it became abandonware after the Touchpad.

Man, HP gave up way too soon on WebOS. I would have loved to see a couple more WebOS smartphones come out before they shuttered it.

They paid to much for palm, then the phones didn't sell, then they built to many touch pads and they didn't sell, it was a major loss of money at the same time the PC industry tanked. HP had to stop the bleeding.

HP never really brought out those phones, they were still developed by old Palm and they just released the phones on a crash sale basis saying their will be no continuance under Leo Apotheker, who soon after left HP.

It was rumored, that companies payed to have webOS dumped, as the OS was so good and was a threat to existing OSs...

Loved webOS. BB10 is kind of like an evolution of webOS in terms of UI. It is sad that one day all that will be left is Android and iOS. Reminds me of the 16-bit computer era when there was choice (Amiga, Atari ST etc) beyond Mac and PC's.
