Hi folks,

There's a lot of discussion here about users who haven't received the past two security updates. However, I just wanted to know whether there are any DTEK60 users here, at all, who HAVE received either or both updates?

If so, please could you respond and advise when received?

I just checked and got an update notice as well. Currently I am on I am on the March 5, 2017 Android security patch level before the update. The update is 107.3 MB in size. Unfortunately I did not charge my BlackBerry this morning (at 57% now and last charge was yesterday evening) so I have to do that first, but with Quick Charge 2.0 that will not take long. I will post a screen capture of the Android security patch level as soon as I do the update. Also happy days are here again...

Just downloaded and installed May Security Patch. Love to hear from BlackBerry though what exactly has been the issue with the April Patch.

Same, though I wonder if they're protecting another partner? (i.e. Qualcomm?) Either way, I think we do deserve transparency, just doubt we'll get any further answers. Hopefully we're permanently back on track.

Completely agree - there would have been far greater understanding and patience had BlackBerry simply come clean and let us know what the cause of the delay was.

Gonna do mine now and will update my wife's on her 60 when she gets home from work .

May 5, 2017 Android security patch level. Unlocked BlackBerry DTEK60 from ShopBlackBerry being used in Canada on Rogers Wireless.

Also I had lunch with a client (he is a consultant) and his Bell Samsung Galaxy S7 edge is on the February 1, 2017 Android security patch level. Ironically they updated him from Android 6 to Android 7 but he is not happy with Android 7 because there have been some bugs and he has been having some stability issues. As I have written previously I want the security patches monthly, and the next version of Android when it is STABLE. Also ironically he is the one that told me to get a BlackBerry because it is a serious smartphone and not to get one of those "silly toys like the Galaxy S or iPhone". Showing off my May 5, 2017 Android security patch level (I updated it as I was leaving this morning) after lunch I could not agree with him more.

As for those who say pictures or it did not happen...


As of now I am a completely satisfied BlackBerry customer. Some communication about what was going on and a timeline of what to expect would have been nice, but all is well that ends well.

What photo sharing sites (for inline or in post images) do people recommend so I can post the monthly Android security patch level images? I have seen other people post that there is a quota for images so I want to have a solution ready before it becomes an issue.

I just had the strangest thing happened to me;

i finally got the notification for the May update, i downloaded it, hit the install and restart option, took my eyes off the device to finish doing stuff and looked over just in time to see my Rogers Dtek60 rebooting without having applied the patch.

I checked the "About Phone" screen and it still shows the March patch level.

I've (re)checked for the May update a few times since in the hopes that it'll reappear, but so far, nothing.

Has anyone else seen or heard of something like this before?
