    This is my Second DTEK60. And, I am reluctantly returning it because of poor speakerphone quality.

    End users will inevitably ask me to switch to either a headset or to get off of speakerphone. I hear them fine, they sound great. But, the person on the other end says my voice is choppy and that I often sound like I'm in a tunnel. I've even disabled Wi-Fi, BlueTooth, NFC to make sure one of the wireless radios isn't interfering. I've moved the device to other locations on my desk and even walked to other room. I even swapped SIM Cards. I'm on AT&T and they confirmed all looked good on their end. Users still complained that I sounded horrible when using speakerphone mode.

    If I did not spend more than 130 hours a month using the telephone for work, I'd just use a BT or wired headset.

    If anyone else has any experiences with the 60 and the Speakerphone, please share. I haven't put it back in the box yet to return it. I want to keep it.


    1. This occurs with and without a case on the device
    2. This is the second DTEK60 and the first had the same issue
    3. The device fails the DTEK60 Hardware diagnostics for Speaker, but Blackberry Support now thinks this is an error since the two test handsets they had in their labs also showed failure and Tier 2 Support is investigating

    I'll continue to EDIT this entry as the issue evolves.

    I have this echo problem about once a month. I have to restart the phone. Very annoying.
