...German market is oversaturated with high quality gadgets, I'm not sure this pricing policy (=599 in Germany), considering the fact BB is barely known in Europe among "rank-and-file" consumers, is the step in the right direction...
    It's not 599...

Germany GmbH is getting more and more ridiculous. Glad I moved out of there. Nicht mehr mit mir. Ekelhaftes Land ist das geworden.

Glad you found a paradise, I wonder where it might be

I agree. That price is better than som other flagships with same specs, together with some of BlackBerry's apps like Hub.

I agree with you, should have been around 529. Especially when i take a look across the border to Switzerland. (459CHF = approx. 423€).

Wonder what the cost will be in South Africa. Hopefully not too high, Blackberry needs to get more exposure in our country, although there are still a lot of Blackberry 7 devices being used.

Battery aside, the Z10 is still a great device. My wife is running it, her boss still have his one (he bought it right after he played a little with her Z10), and I jumped over to the passport three weeks ago - not because I had trouble with the Z10, but I couldn't resist the passport-firesale .

My wife would like to stay with her Z10, but maybe she have to give it up early next year because of whatsapp - if this is the cas, i hope I can convince her to jump over to the DTek50....
Absolutely agree! I use Z10 now not because I can't afford another phone, but simply because there is no other phone I would want now instead of Z10. Maybe Lumia 950... but I will miss led notification and BB keyboard in that one. Android and Apple sh*t only annoys me.

In Germany, the phone is priced @ 599 euro's, which makes it 660 dollars. Will fail massively with that price.

Glad they got the US pricing right for once though.
Yeah, although I'm not a huge fan of huge slabs, I'd never buy such an expensive phone. Especially since no one knows BB around here anymore I wonder who should buy that device? I hardly know anybody who cares about OS and security updates, so that won't be a big point on the plus side. Combined with the pricing I wonder why they release this device in Europe at all. It will fail so hard! Just think about it more than $ 650! Who would buy that?

..it's better, but BB still doesn't ring a bell in this area, how you gonna make anyone buy at this price it if the brand is largely not known here?

DTEK60 by BlackBerry Bundle - 579 EUR in Europe. It's nonsense, but Blackberry people still think that they are A brand... Not so clever for "software company"

Pricing has been at or under guesses since the DTEK50. Unfortunately that means for the price point customers desire, BlackBerry needs the volume TCL produces when there are Acatel and BlackBerry versions. If we go back to pure BlackBerry designs, people will be unhappy with the price again.

I was actually thinking this the other day. $500 is exactly what I would have thought this phone would cost.

Pretty good value for what you get.

I believe it has a perfect pricing too. I'm all into the sub $500 smartphones, between the $400-$500 range. I think that's the perfect price to not sacrifice anything. No more than $550 at the most.

Will this make people flock the stores? Oh wait it's not even available in retail stores. Until then, we will have to wait for the next earnings call if it have made a dent on the hardware sales.
