Has anyone else notice that the notification and ringer volume seems to be very low, even on the maximum volume?
The volume level is much lower than my trusty Z-10. I noticed a few DTEK 50 threads on this subject, and the issue may have been resolved on that phone with a security update.

Any ideas on what can be done to increase the volume? I use the phone for on-call support and need to ensure that it is loud enough to wake me at night. Unfortunately, if I can't get a fix, I'll have to move away from BB.

I do have to agree that the notification volume is quite low.

No advice on this issue, so it would be cool if there was a solution.

Nobody has an issue with the notification sounds being a little on the quiet side?

Expected a little more from the speakers, otherwise a spectacular phone overall.

I have noticed this as well. Not sure if it's the tone I am using or just how android OS is. The speakers are loud, just not notifications.

I don't think it's a hardware issue. Media sounds and music are LOUD, notifications, not so much.
I'm going to try to load a custom notification sound and see if that works, increase the volume of the file in Audacity and load it up..

I was able to get a copy of the BB10 notification sounds and used the "amplify" function in Audacity to create new files. In order to do this, I had to allow digital clipping, and added about 6 dB of boost. The new ringers are much louder than the stock sounds and are loud enough to wake me from sleep. Might be a quick fix for those with this issue.

Good tip! I haven't used a DTEK50 but did have a Priv on launch day and noticed that the notifications were all quieter than on my prior Z10 and Passport.

Same with the vibrate. With my Z30 I could hear the vibrate easily if it was on a table or something. Can't hear the vibrate at all with the DTEK when I set it down and a lot of times don't even feel it in my pocket if I'm walking.

Seems OK for loudness, could be a little louder it's the same as the Z30 and I just compared the music quality with the Z30 which is the best I've ever tested and it's actually slightly better sounding speakers on the DTEK.

My notifications are fine but the system sounds (keyboard, icon taps etc.) are super quiet, even with the volume all the way up.

I also feel like the notifications are too quiet. Music/video volume is plenty loud so it's obvious the phone has the capability to be louder, so I'm wondering why the notifications are so soft... Hopefully this is resolved in an update.

The phone has "escalating" ringtone volume (which cannot be disabled either); best guess is that the flag is on for that for notifications as well, which is just a bad setting -- the reason is that a notification tone is very short, so it's over before the volume escalates.

Noticed this as well as I've been setting it up. I hope a software update will fix it.

I have experienced the same. Low notification volume and rubbish vibration.

Ringtones are also fairly quite on a relative basis.

BlackBerry tell me that no one has reported a bug of low notification volume.

    Hence I have reported it.

    Interesting that .

In my correspondence with the BlackBerry help desk I referred to your review and this forum topic to highlight there is an issue here when they told me there wasn't.

And its been reported in the beta threads also. Since there is no bug report to submit as it actually works just low volume it will need to be adjusted on the next system update.

Guys, try turning all the dials up on the Waves MaxxAudio app. It works for most things.

There was a link to classic [bb os 7 ]BlackBerry ringtones and notifiers posted here sometime ago. I'm using those, but even using the stock notifications volume all seems to be fine. I'm pretty picky about ringtones and vibrate notifications being loud / strong enough and I approve of the 60 setup out of the box.
