    Hi,

I've had the Dtek60 for a couple of months and it's been a good phone. I use it everyday as a wifi hotspot at my workshop.
Yesterday morning I got the message for the May security update so I did that.

Later in the day I tried to use my hotspot as usual and my pc would connect no problem but there is no internet.

So I spent some time trying to work it out, if I change the network type to 3G it works but if I change it back to 4G the internet no longer works through the hotspot (the phone can still access the internet though).

I'm with Aldi mobile on the largest plan with 9GB, I put the sim card in my old Motorola and the hotspot works on 4G no problem, so it has to be the Blackberry May security update that has caused this. Does anyone else have this issue with their Dtek60?

    Thanks.

I wonder if it is a permission thing that needs to be reset?

If you go to Settings and view everything under Wireless & Networks, you should find Tethering and portable hotspot (or something equivalent). Try setting this backup with a new network name and password.

The Select AP Band and the bottom should be set probably to 2.4 GHz Band.
    Security WPA2 PSK, I believe.

Yes I tried that and it made no difference, only thing that worked was changing to 3G.

I have a theory on what has happened. I think the May update is now sending to my carrier (Aldi mobile which uses the Telstra network) that my phone is tethered or using hotspot. And my carrier is barring 4G when hotspot is being used.
Found this thread that looks similar to what's happened to the Dtek60.
