- LMAO, yah, the dtek60 has a fake CPU, fake RAM, and a fake SD card slot, no wait, that part is real... If you want to pay extra for a brand when the technical specs are the same or comparable, then go ahead. I heard the new Mac Pro is awesome.

What type of Glass protection?
Who makes the display?
How fast is the RAM?
What quality are the batteries?
There are lots of ways that TCL cuts cost in order to build their electronics so cheaply, but all you have to do is look at reviews for their other products....
It's a great phone for $499.... but it IS a $499 phone. You aren't paying for the GOOGLE "Brand" on the PIXEL, you are paying for all the "parts" that make it a high end phone.krazyatom likes this.11-09-16 01:06 PMLike 1 - After all the waiting to see my beloved BlackBerry come out of the waters afloat, I feel that this is not going to happen soon enough for my liking.
Pixel fascinated me greatly and after great thought, I have now decided and ordered a 'Very Silver Pixel'. Yes, I do feel very sad at the thought of abandoning my beloved BlackBerry Brand.
I can't imagine life without Hub so will defenitely subscribe to the Package...but unfortunately that is going to be my sole thread with BlackBerry going forward. Wishing and praying that BlackBerry make a comeback.11-09-16 01:07 PMLike 0 - What type of speakers does it have?

And it's nothing to do with it being a BlackBerry, there are so many other options other than the Pixel that do not force you to rely on cloud storage..

Nice and stripped down of unnecessary skins and bloat which is refreshing coming from Samsung after a long history with BB. The only thing I don't like about it is the price here in Canada direct from Google. Looking at maybe coming back to BB if the 60 screen is bright.

But, I think the advantages of storing in Cloud outweigh the disadvantage you mentioned. Again, it depends on person to person...for example I don't have a SD card on my Passport as I prefer backing up stuff to my hard disk rather than keeping on phone (on fear of losing the Phone somewhere). In that sense Cloud is perfect for me...as long as I don't keep undisclosable pics over there :P11-09-16 02:46 PMLike 0 - For what its worth I've got the 128GB Black Pixel and it appears to be very well built and solid. I never said there's anything wrong with the cloud, I use it for backing things up all of the time, but for me it can never be my primary storage site for things I need access to daily...
Posted without the aid of AutoCorrect with my physical keyboard via CB1011-09-16 03:00 PMLike 0 - I use cloud for backup as well, and I don't keep a sole copy of anything on my phone, but my music collection I have a COPY on a sd card in my phone. Even if I lose it, I have it on my PC as well. I don't want to rely on coverage to have access to it, I drive long distance often, which is when the music on my phone is the most important as radio stations will come and go, and there are stretches of road through pretty much wilderness where there's no much coverage. Then there's the battery issue if you're constantly using my data when I listen to my music. I had my phone on bluetooth listening to my music AND using GPS on a 3 hour drive across my state while my passenger with her Android had to use my charger and my phone made it all the way with battery to spare. Had I been forced to use my data to get my music along with the gps and data from the maps, and the bluetooth connection, probably would have killed my battery...

Like for example, all my music files reside right on my Car on the car's SD card itself. I don't need to depend on my phone a bit. Similarly my car is equipped with GPS so no need for Phone there too.
Yes, agreed Pixel is expensive and Dtek60 is the wiser choice. But, after a long long travel...I decided that its time for a change. I would never buy an Iphone :P, never was impressed with 'Samsung and its bloatware' but liked the Clean look of the Pixel.
Having said all these, I would defenitely keep a close watch on the Mercury. If it indeed would look like that Presentations Render, I would be much tempted for a return11-09-16 03:17 PMLike 0 - It's seems like Pixel is having LTE problems
http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/11...und-the-world/11-09-16 03:21 PMLike 0 - Google pixel use faster SSD if anyone cares.
Also, not all snapdragon chips are created equal. Good batch usually goes to high bidder.11-09-16 03:25 PMLike 0 - Understood, and this is exactly why I said it depends on Use Case.

Throw in a change of service terms with the provider that could allow the provider to reduce your storage limits size at their whim at some point in the future, especially since it's "free". You're either blocked temporarily from access, or you end up scrambling to look elsewhere for another host. I'll take physical storage any day.11-09-16 03:43 PMLike 0

Pixels seem to be having trouble with LTE band 4 connectivity, possibly other bands, around the world11-09-16 03:45 PMLike 0 - The Pixel is the fastest device I've had a chance to play with. Certainly faster than the s7e and n7. Absolutely no lag or stutter. I understand the iphone 7 is quicker but not sure how it could be any faster in day to day tasks other than through benchmarks.11-09-16 03:47 PMLike 0

- I never got to test the pixel but Samsung galaxy s7 read speed was like 420mb/sec and dtek60 was like 220mb/sec.11-09-16 04:00 PMLike 0

Since you are talking reviews, why don't have look at the only review yet for the dtek60 which is from zdnet. Glass, stereo speakers, etc. All top notch. Camera may not be quite as good, but overall phone is top value for the money.
Speaking of money the dteck is about $400 cheaper than the pixel here in Canada. For the difference in price you could buy a silver passport and have the best of both operating systems.
Posted via CB1011-09-16 05:08 PMLike 0 - I dun't know why you again are always so negative on BlackBerry. The dtek60 is not a cheaply built plastic phone so quit characterising it as such.

If you want to save some money and aren't concerned with long term support - go TLC (BlackBerry)
If you want quality components that will for sure be update through the life of the phone... go PIXEL.
Smartphones are like any other electronic device... some buy the off brand low cost copy cats, other pay for higher end real things.
Whether or not that is a good thing I'll leave to the political economists for now, although you are slightly right about one thing, quality control. QC differs among manufacturers and that is something still worth considering.11-09-16 09:33 PMLike 0 - As someone rightly said, it all depends on what you want in a phone. If you want better security, better productivity and more value for money, then the DTEK60 is the phone for you. If you want the latest and fastest updates, the best camera and flair, then you might want to go with the pixel. For me, the DTEK60 still wins it.
