OK, uninstalling Google Play Service update instructions worked perfectly. The December 1 update on the DTEK60 is now installed and I reinstalled all the updates to Google Play Service and it worked.

got mine to work on DTEK60... uninstalled Google Play services, unchecked device administrators...ran the update successfully and then put everything back...(!)

I have done these steps while waiting for the update to show up on my phone. it is a replacement from BlackBerry and last month the update appeared at the end of the month. So I am guessing this update also will arrive the last day or two of December.

I'm also waiting, though the steps you did aren't necessary for update to SHOW.

Tried that first time around...also 32 second reboot...

The "Find my phone" was never activated on my phone so I didn't have to uncheck it either, however I can still track my phone.

After the uninstalling, and then the deselecting, then reboot phone. That makes the difference.

Its good to have a workaround. But why are we forced to get used to have it... OMG

Because they took a page out of Apple's playbook. Frustrate the end user to force them to upgrade hoping you will be a sucker and purchase another one from the same company who screwed you.

My DTEK60 on O2 has the Sept security update. Nothing for Oct thru to Dec. 😢

So, Talked to Blackberry Help on Twitter. Said do the 32 Second hold on the power key, then follow the instructions. But alas. Still can't uncheck the Find my phone. So still unable to update. No Answer from them since the last message hours ago..
