If you take the exact same picture with the 60 and Z30 at the same time back to back the one thing you will notice about the 30 is that the image remains sharper as you zoom in on the photo. All the fine details stay sharp. On the 60 fine details are very fuzzy when zooming in especially indoors and in low light/at night. Overall the 60 has a good camera. Not great, but good enough considering it is about $300 less than an S7.

Great pictures. I'm sorry, but I don't think my Priv can come close to replicating this.

From these sample images that tonythecanuck posted, the camera on the DTEK60 is definitely good enough for everyday use on a smartphone, I never expect SLR quality images from a smartphone camera, just need them to be somewhat acceptable, these samples, especially the night photos, are pretty nice.

Well, my PRIV 18MP camera took excellent photos. The DTEK60 21 MP camera is somewhat better in that it produces a wider panoramic shot, and colours and details appear more natural. The Priv produced great shots but colours were a bit more saturated, although the PRIV had the advantages of image stabilization.

Note : I have noticed that some of the "noise" in some of my pics is only a result of uploading to the CB site, so unfortunately you don't see the original quality of the shots. You can go to my Instagram site (ajmcanick) for a look at pics taken with my BlackBerry Passport SE, my PRIV, my Dtek60, as well as my Canon and Olympus cameras.

I am willing to buy either a DTEK60 or a Priv to replace my old Z10 from 2013 (almost 4 years!). I like the DTEK60 specs but I'm a bit worried about the camera? 21 MPX is nice but it seems to have little magic to help it shines. Could the lack of optical image stabilization hinders the camera performances serously? Thanks for your comments.

In Bla1ze's review he stated that one of the downsides was the lack of OIS on the camera. This will obviously help take cleaner photos especially if you are moving.

he also said "I would say for most folks the DTEK60 is...within the same realm as the Priv, so if you're a Priv owner considering the DTEK60 the camera shouldn't be a concern"

Im taking that as, the PRIV and DTEK60 have very similar quality.

I have had the Z30, the Passport SE, the PRIV, and I now have the DTEK60.

The Priv 18MP camera takes great photos. It has a Schneider-Kreuznach lens and OIS, so it takes good, clear shots. Photos taken with the PRIV can seem a bit over- saturated, but colours are vibrant.

In comparison, the Dtek60 21MP camera takes wider shots, so you get more in the shot. Photos are clear and detailed, although it takes more effort to stabilize the phone while taking a picture. Colours are more "natural" than on the PRIV, and are not over-saturated.

I have received compliments taken with the Passport SE, the PRIV, and the Dtek60.
