Just got mine today and I agree it is an amazing phone! Extremely quick and smooth. I can't put it down. Much quicker and more responsive than my PRIV.

I need to upgrade from my outdated Samsung Galaxy S7. Anyone else coming from S7?
That's a downgrade not an upgrade, especially if you have the Exynos version, wich is more powerfull than the SD820

I beg to differ , the specs are better in every aspect excluding screen resolution,

Maybe when he meant "upgrade " he was due for a new device... a new toy

This my first day with DTEK60. I'm not sure about anything yet. Still too early to judge, but the Galaxy S7 camera is way better than DTEK60!

The PRIV battery was only good with its first update. Now the battery sucks, but it's getting better, IMO.

I'm not 100% inside the Dtek60 specs other than those more common specs, but I really don't remember many advantages "specs wise" of the Dtek60 over Galaxy S7 Edge:

-Processor wise, the S7 either has the SD820 (same as Dtek), or the superior Exynos 8890 like the european versions.
    -Both have 4GB of ram
-Dtek 3000mah battery, S7 3600 mah, much bigger battery in the S7
-Dtek offers 32gb of storage, the S7 you can choose up to 64GB, so better on the S7
-Samsung storage in the S7 has been consistently faster (at least on write speeds) over other Android phones
    -Both have quad-hd amoled, tied
-Camera on the S7 is still class leading on par with the Pixel, and by the reviews and coments here on the forum, Dtek60 has a camera close to the priv (wich is a great camera, but no S7)
-165g of weight for the Dtek60, 157g on the S7, so it's lighter too
-Dtek has USB-C, S7 doesn't, there Dtek is better

It's not a question of "specs are better", it's a question of whether it's equivalent -- and it is.

But.... it's a hell of a better deal on the money side, whether the competition be the Pixel or S7.

When my Z30 finally dies (it still working great though!), the DTEK60 definitely looks like it's replacement.

The s7 has 3600mah? You sure that isn't the bigger s7 edge version?

This phone is coming out at the perfect time for BB. I just hope they spend some marketing dollars to capitalize on the opportunity and garner some good reviews with the top tech blogs. You've got:

    - Google leaving the "nexus" model for the "pixel" model which comes at about a $200 premium for average hardware
    - Chinese companies like ZTE, OnePlus, Huawai and others offering similar hardware as Pixel phones for a low cost. However:
    - Screen resolution is only 1080 in most cases
    - Consistent updates are weak point
    - Customer service is a weak point

Blackberry is in the perfect position to capture this in-between market where the Nexus once stood. A near stock experience, excellent build quality, good customer service, monthly updates, mid-range price point.

This phone has all the makings of a winner. Blackberry just needs to get out and market it as such.

    Agreed

If they launched mercury and this right in the same year when they transitioned into android, it would been the good year .

For me the camera is not a make or break thing. I don't want a **** camera but I don't take that many pictures either.
