Much better than my previous Priv. Sometimes it slows down but I think that's mostly user error. Very speedy (especially if you adjust the speed settings as was described in another thread, by Conite, I think), and the battery's what you'd expect for a modern Android device though Quick Charge 3.0 helps tremendously. I don't miss wireless charging like I thought I would, and the fingerprint scanner is much more useful than I anticipated. All in all I'm pleased with my choice. I wasn't using the physical keyboard enough to justify keeping the Priv.

I got the DTEK60 just over a week ago and now I wish I had gotten it a lot sooner. I bought it when I did because of the sale and also I needed a new smartphone soon.

In terms of speed it is smooth as silk. I watched a lot of videos on YouTube doing side by side comparisons of it with the Samsung S7 edge, Google Pixel XL, and iPhone 7 Plus. Virtually all the difference were a fraction of a second and in some cases the DTEK60 was a fraction of a second faster. The Snapdragon 820 chip in the DTEK60 is almost identical to the Snapdragon 821 in the Google Pixel XL.

The one thing you want to think about is RAM and the DTEK60 has 4 GB of RAM which is the same as all the current flagship smartphones from this year (2017) and last year.

As for the battery life I love it. I use my DTEK60 all day (I work as a consultant) so I have multiple e-mail accounts and calendars along with web browsing and using Microsoft Word. I also use a fitness app for running which uses the GPS for roughly an hour a day. After a 12 hour day I am usually above 50% on the battery. I went from an iPhone 5s with two spare battery packs in my pocket to the DTEK60 and not needing any of that. It is nice to be able to be out for an entire day and not have to worry about charging or power.

If you do not need the physical keyboard I would say 100% get the DTEK60. You will not be disappointed. Also today is May 9, 2017 and yesterday I got the May 5, 2017 Android security patch. Friends with Android devices from other brands are on February 1, 2017 mostly. If you value security this is the best deal not only for money but also performance is great.

Yes, I would also say go for the detek60 over the Keyone.

The detek60 is a more than capable device, with great battery life, smooth and fast performance and with a soft plastic case it feels great in the hand.

At this point my preference is performance and battery life with a wee bit more screen real estate, over a PKB.

I like the looks and design of the Keyone but if you scrap the PKB for a VKB and inserted an 8xx series chip ......whoa boy.

Likewise. Now on sale I think in the BB shop.

Get a case before use though. It'll stop any potential heart aches.

The KeyOne will greatly exceed the DTEK60s battery life and the camera is likely much superior as well in low light. In other respects the DTEK60 is a much faster device and has more RAM.

I can and occasionally DO run it out of power during a full day (the DTEK60) but it charges very, very fast. On a 30 minute plug-in while driving it'll be nearly filled from ~45-50% with a QC3.0 charger, so IF you need to top it off you can very quickly and easily. But the KeyONE, in the same use pattern, isn't going to run out of power in the first place.

I have an Incipio dual-layer case on mine and would not run it naked; it has a glass back and glass camera lens cover; break either and you will cry.

I have to second putting it in a proper case. I literally dropped my BlackBerry DTEK60 in less than a minute of having it out the box. It fell a few centimeters from my hands onto my desk so no harm done. The very next thing I did was put it in the BlackBerry Smart Flip Case that I ordered at the same time I bought the DTEK60.

For the my BlackBerry Z30 I had an OtterBox Defender (also used a Defender for my iPhone 5s) and that case is simply amazing! I do have to admit having the Defender I was more careless and both smartphones would slip out of my hands but I would not care. I dropped them a few times by accident on cement floor and no harm at all.

For the DTEK60 I wanted to get the Incipio DualPro (reviews online looked very good) but I was one penny short of the free shipping threshold for Amazon Canada so I ended up getting the Smart Flip Case from ShopBlackBerry instead. The Smart Flip Case is great, but if I had to do it over again I might get the Incipio DualPro instead. The reason for that is I am a klutz and although I have been more careful with the DTEK60 it probably would have been better getting a more heavy duty case like the DualPro. That being said I love the functionality of the Smart Flip Case, although typing was slightly awkward at first but I have gotten used to it.

Just ordered from shop BlackBerry. I like the DTEK50 I have, but coming from the Z30 it just is not cutting it. The battery is terrible. And there is not enough ram. Looking forward to a quality phone again.

I don't know what happens, but my dtek60 don't have a great battery like yours. My battery works about 19 to 20 hours.
