I'm wondering if I had a double whammy going on, with the media card, and*what*appears to be the pebble time app. I installed wakelock detector and set it up through an adb console, gonna see what it's up to.

That's 10x what it should be while sleeping (the phone's electronics have an actual current meter in there; it's not a guess.) That's not the battery, it's something not going to sleep and it's likely an app.

That's not play services -- it's an app calling it repeatedly (and abusively.) It's going to be fun to find because the power is being recorded under the called routine instead of the calling one.

That particular app does exactly that sort of thing, so if you have any *other* T-Mobile apps on the phone there's a non-zero chance they have the same libraries in them and do the same sort of garbage. Otherwise it's a process of elimination as it was quite tricky to track down that it was the "Tuesdays" app doing it when I caught it doing so....

Then again close to a year ago I caught the Gasbuddy app doing the same sort of thing but through a different path (abuse of the bluetooth interface, presumably looking for bluetooth beacons or something similar.)

OK, so before work, I uninstalled every app that wasn't on the phone when I got it, aside from gsam and wakelock detector. I put the phone in airplane mode, and left for work around 8 with the dtek60 at around 85 percent. It sat all day, in my computer room, untouched, and again, in airplane mode with no applications. Here's the verdict:

Have the dtek60 for a few days now. Batterylife is great ! Normal usage 2 days. Heavy usage 1 day. This phone is just great.

This just doesn't add up... is my device faulty? I get about 5-6 hours use per day.

There are definitely huge differences in battery performance that people are experiencing. The first 60 I got was from BB immediately they released it. The battery was very poor and I started a thread on this forum about it. BB told me to return and refund was provided. I then bought from a local store in the UK and the battery is simply amazing.

Here is a screen shot from taking off charge at 0810 (UK Local) this morning. I have to admit I haven't used it much today but the standby is simply awesome and it won't be going on charge tonight.

Where else to buy the device if not from shop BlackBerry? It's not like this thing is being sold by carriers worldwide. Lol! Still waiting to get my #Craptek60 back. BlackBerry Support told me 3-5 business days turnaround then the repair shop said 9-12. Sigh. Legendary service I tell you.

It's been 2 weeks with the dtek for me. The map app seems to eat battery and playing music through Bluetooth is more expensive than with my classic but overall I start the day at 100% and by this time in the evening (7:30) I'm at about 68-78% so far I am very happy with battery
