I think for some that have not followed BlackBerry for recent times it comes as a shock to not see cell phones not being front and center on their website. Thankfully BlackBerry has moved passed that and embraced their next chapter. Phones are still there, just not the main focus.

I would think it will be several weeks before they can do proper comprehensive tests that ensure the batteries are safe. Just my guess with no evidence at all to support my theory.

I don't think the batteries are similar to the Samsung problem ones, but I think any company would decide to take a second look at the batteries of phones being released under the circumstances. What was the quote on losses to Samsung? I think it was 7 billion dollars.

I know how hot my DTEK50 got during the first week, and subsequently when I was video taping on recent holidays it got so hot my husband made comment when he touched it. It was concerning so I think sharp scrutiny of these new phones is smart thinking in light of Samsung issues.

- Selling channels removed DTEK60 listing.
- What is the point of releasing a new phone when their all official channels kept posting "Software is the new BlackBerry" repeatedly?.
- They even stopped any ads for their phones.
- Their two months old DTEK50 got ZERO ads or official media mentioning as well.
- Look at BlackBerry official site. The main page doesn't have any smartphone materials.

These are only speculations have them due to many obvious signs.
What do you think?
