Since barely anyone reads these days and just looks at the pretty pics. The DTEK60 is built by TCL.

In case it needed to be stated unequivocally..-screenshot-2016-09-27-05.07.51.png

They'll be loads of posts asking about the paratek antenna, extra radio bands, better camera, etc, etc on the BB version.

    But the Processor is different
The Vodafone phone has a 652 whereas the Dtek60 (is rumored to) has(or have) an 820

That's an Alcatel, but not the DTEK60. Closer to the DTEK50 with that Snapdragon 652.

There is a BB Keebler Elf with a syringe "injecting" the mythical BB security keys into every BB phone! (The same "keys" that QualComm puts in all of its processors - though many OEMs don't bother to use that feature).

BB Security - it's like heroin!

Do you have a source that these are the exact same security keys and that other OEMs just choose not to use them? Why would they do that exactly?

Thurber seemed clear that BlackBerry is doing something custom:

18 min 00 sec - "we embed crypto keys during the manufacturing process"

23 min 30 sec - "we inject our secret sauce into the manufacturing line"

Yes i agree and saw this video. I'm wondering about Troy's sources that BlackBerry doesn't do anything besides use what qualcomm already provides that other manufacturers just choose not to use.

Seems that way. For example, from what i understand, it has different (better) screen then Idol 4 pro.

Screen is effectively the only difference all around to any models that are already built. They basically took the display from a Idol 4S and jammed it into a TCL950. Which, isn't an already purchasable configuration but it's not like they don't already have the parts kicking around anyway.

It's in the documentation for the chipset - it's called something like Trustzone, you'll like find it on the Qualcomm website - by secret sauce he means their own generated keys - there was a paper somewhere that said that BBRY was actually harming security because it was generating keys via an unknown method rather than a known method which the security community was able to verify.

Your alternative is that Qualcomm are producing modified chips especially for BBRY and if they are doing that, then they are spending a lot of money and that doesn't fit what the bottom dollar model of BBRY hardware.

...for customers who live there anyway. About 200 countries in the world, about 820 carriers in the world, so maybe folks who live in a country other than the US might get carrier support.
