I subscribe to Blackberry's emailing list. I got a promotional email today regarding the Dtek 60. Screen shot of it below. I cut the bottom off but it just listed the current bundle promotion from Shop Blackberry, however, if you read the last sentence in the first paragraph it says " You will still be able to walk in to stores and buy Blackberry smartphones!"
I live a few miles from Blackberry's head office does anyone know what store I can walk in to for this ?? I'm confused ...

Maybe in your Canada but not in mine! The 50 is very rare. I did see one dummy dtek 50 though

I believe the dtek 50 has only just been released in Singapore and you would have to know about it to be able to check it out/ buy it.

But then why would you, with the dtek 60 just being released?

Is that the store where you get a free chocolate bar with every DTEK60 you buy?

EDIT: I've just read BB's advert in the first post. I'll admit to being slack-jawed in amazement after reading the first paragraph which I would paraphrase as "We're not dead yet! Come and buy the last BB phone before we move to software".

My cat could produce better marketing than whoever BB are currently paying!

Cats are amazing. Just look how they have marketed the Internet. BlackBerry should fire those 1,000,000 monkeys they hired and got 5 or 6 domestic short hairs. Success would of been beyond what they could produce.

I have always really liked their products and couldn't believe at first that they fell from being at the top of the market to being not much more now than an after thought. Then they send me an email like that and it makes me wonder how they are still in business at all. I want them to succeed and I want them to grab more market share again. I know people that work there and I want to support them but it is like they want to fail.
They come out with this phone that seems like it is a great product at a competitive price but hardly anyone in the world knows it exists outside of BlackBerry fan sites and you can't see it in any store or kiosk anywhere.

What's bizarre is how they would use a marketing bit to inform you about a new phone and by the way, in case you forgot, we don't make phones anymore? Lol.

Saw a dtek 50 at Costco at Sportsworld and a live Priv at Rogers in the Cambridge centre. I( made sure to extend the keyboard so people would notice). And I'm not really liking for them that hard.

Ive seen the Priv at Rogers stores. Never looked for the '50 yet but the email leads one to believe the '60 is available in stores. To me that means at least a dummy if not functioning unit on display. All indications so far are it is online purchase only.
I find the promo email misleading at best.

They just announced it last week and said they are Shipping November 7th. So the 7th of November you will probably see it. People can be so negative. Give BlackBerry a chance man alive, phone isn't even out yet and you are complaining. Apple screws up you get another Apple , Samsung blows up you get another . This really makes my blood boil.

The emails are only going out to people who have signed up for BlackBerry product news. They aren't spamming people en mass. That's good.

The DTEK60's are already in customer hands. Shipping started Oct. 24th/25th. Look at the new threads.

While I agree spamming is not the way to go, history has already showed that sticking with the dwindling user base does not generate enough sales.
