Google just released the final developer preview 7.1.1 to Nexus yesterday. In December, the final release build and 7.1.1 source will go out. Blackberry is already testing devices with 7.0 of course but I agree 7.1.1 will be the Nougat version that Blackberry Android device will upgraded to. No reason to do things twice for BB beta group testing.

It definitely will, keep in mind BlackBerry will first need to secure that OS version to their world class standard. Would be impossible to rollout at same time and expect the level of Security were used to.

Though I don't know what exactly means "secure that OS", but I don't think it's a rocket science. Okay, it takes some time, but since Android N is more secure than Android M by design, they should hurry doing their part.

They are making changes on the kernel level. It's not simply quicker because N happens to be more secure then M.

The Priv has received all the betas/security patches to this point prior to the Dtek devices. I'm assuming that's the reasoning anyways.

Aren't there many folks with problems with their S7 after the nougat 7.0 update?

Android is one OS where the updates isn't something you want to rush into unless you know how to root and flash so you can roll back if desired.

If it takes that long for 7.0 to arrive how long wil it take for fixes to arrive, if at all...

I've left my S7 to ignore the installation for now loll

I know it's a dead horse but android is truly a pos OS but it dominates the market share so cest la vie.

My S7 runs fine with nougat and all my nougat devices are very good. What kind of problem do you have? Hopefully, my dtek60 will receive nougat very soon!
