If I wanted to swap one DTEK60 device for another, and move *everything* over, what method would folks recommend?

What I want as end result, is same 'soul' in a brand new 'body'.

But...you are talking about an alcatel android phone! In the alcatel history there isn't even one hardware you can speak about quality, years ago if you wanted a cheap phone it was alcatel, may be the last ones are a little bit more...I have a dtek60...beautiful to look at, but poor in quality, strength and durability, beyond the fact that I just can not digest android.

Thanks! Do you mean 'back up ' as per the automatic backup feature in phone's setting? Or, any special, 'manual' backup process?

Also, I suspect I will still need to manually install all the apps, right?

Not totally true. You will have to re set-up hub and lay out your icons again. Some launchers have back up and restore. May be worth exploring.

I have a large number of DTEK50 and DTEK60 devices. They are very well built. No issues with fit and finish or construction here at all.

I'd suggest getting a DTek60 if you want a phone like the DTek60.

:-) I'm already sporting a DTEK60. And may get another one -- hence, the question.

Google can auto backup most data, the rest you may need to reconfigure.

Good thinking! It worked for me when moving from Passport to DTEK60 - would it work the same way with two New Blackberry Android devices?

Would the transfer be essentially the same using Google and using BlackBerry Transfer? Or is there a significant difference ... thinking ahead about DTEK60 to the Merc.

    It will transfer:
    Contacts
    Pictures
    Videos
    Music
    Text msg
    Documents
    Email accounts

It will use Google Drive to do the transfer.

I set android to backup my data to my gmail account, this way when I set up a new device using my gmail account it will ask to restore my apps etc.. Note it doesnt work with everything
