Updated the OS to the latest January update a couple days ago have noticed significant decrease in battery life. I used to have excellent battery life on the DTEK 60 before this update.

I have not installed any new apps since, everything remains the same.

Could this be a bug in the update?

Same here. Not really complaining but I need to recharge now more often. Facebook seems to drain the most of my battery though and I barely use it. Wasn't the case before.

Hopefully someone from the BB team is reading this. My battery life is literally 2 hours right now when I used to make it through the whole day with no issues. If it's not fixed I have no choice but to send the phone back to BlackBerry to get it replaced under warranty.

It's definitely not normal and some bug in the OS is rapidly draining the battery. I hope the issue gets resolved very soon

It's not the OS update. Something has screwed up at Facebook, the battery draining issue is reported widely by various smartphones in the past 1-2 days. It's quite odd, since there were no client update in this period.

I did notice FaceBook was up at 11% battery usage within 3 hours, so maybe that is the case.

January update. No Facebook. No change in battery life. Phone lasts a solid two days. 100 emails a day. Light browsing. 30 to 50 texts. No issues. Phone never even warm. No games. No LinkedIn. No Instagram. No Twitter. All good.

I just got a Hub+ services update. Almost wonder if it's to fix this battery drain issue.

Ive had FB since day one of owning the DTEK 60 and battery was always excellent. I never had to charge it except before going to bed at night.

But since the January OS update I'm only getting 2 or 3 hours maximum. That's a huge drop.

I started having problems a couple of days or so ago, and came here to see what was up, and find out I'm not the only one. I know my phone updated shortly prior to the problem starting. It's not FB, as I don't even have it on my phone. Dang, I had to get rid of my Z10 due to battery issues, and now this. I hope they fix it soon - nothing like being tied to a charging cord all the time. And I have noticed my phone running warmer than normal.

Admittedly my battery life was VERY noticeably worse yesterday, first day after update, but today seems back to normal....I'm hoping that it stays that way....

Switched to Metal for Facebook and loving it as get FB and Messages still and no ads. It's free and even has Dark Theme. Facebook and Messenger have always drained batteries on every android I've owned.

My DTEK60 continues to be awesome and no issues with battery life, easy day even as power user.

Yep its Facebook again. Many Android users are complaining the last few days that FB is causing battery issues, the culprit seems to be something server-side. It will be fixed but the bottom line FB wanting to be more than a simple communication platform app is the issue.

Got the update and not having any issues. Phone has been on for about 7 hours today and I'm still at 91%. I also found that if I block FaceBook from knowing my location, it doesn't drain the battery at all.

I may have stumbled upon a battery draining item.

Prior to yesterday I was getting fairly poor battery life, I wound tend to plug in most of the day or in the car. If not I would loose battery very quickly throughout the day.

However, yesterday I re-setup my BB Hub. Set up my multiple email accounts, linked in, etc. The ONE change I made to all the accounts was to turn off "push" sync. Thus, I must manually refresh when I check the HUB.

It's 345 central time, unplugged at 7am, my battery is at 73% having not plugged in all day, numerous texts, checking emails and a few phone calls.

Perhaps Androids constant need to be up to date is it's downfall????

    Coincidence??
