First thread I have started in a while. Maybe it should be the July security update waiting room.

I did see that google has released the details of August security patch. Any guesses on how long we lowly DTEK60 users have to wait?

It will be interesting to see how long the apologists wait before they admit that BlackBerry is doing a bad job patching android.

I'm running the Priv, Factory unlocked -1 version, oddly BlackBerry seems to keep it more on schedule than the Dtek's, and it's older???
    Still waiting for August though.

Probably because they sold 10 times more Privs than both DTEKs combined.

Other vendors and even carriers (with some vendors) have stepped up... while BlackBerry is struggling to keep up.

BlackBerry is still the only one with a Keyboard... but once those full touch hit the market I'm not sure the DTEK app and the BlackBerry name will be a reason to buy them. The update "promise" doesn't mean what it did 20 months ago.

I think it's just sad. It was one of BlackBerrys major selling points imho. When people asked me in the past what Android model I'd recommend, I'd always say DTEK60 or Pixel(XL). Nowadays I stick to the latter.

I'd change this to complaining room, rather than passive waiting.

As soon as I got the phone I realised that I was two months behind the updates. The carrier haven't even registered the phone yet. So I went on to offence and every day posted a question on their twitter asking why are they delaying the updates, and when they replied saying that BB hasn't pushed any updates to them I quoted blackberry mobile, BlackBerry help... This started blaming game between the carrier and BB in public and in PMs and behold now I'm getting updates regularly. Already on August and on AAN358.

For which device? DTEK60? Pretty amazing seeing how they haven't even mentioned the release if it. Can you share a screen shot?

Sorry, but regarding your complaining vs passive waiting comment, did you expect a blank message board?

That was for keyone but the principle of my post sticks.

I used to get super irritated seeing BB post THE MOST SECURE OS, and there was me running on 3 months old security patches. So I didn't start waiting room threads but posted directly below the tweets.

    Just my 2 cents.

I have done the same on twitter. Many times. I have not gotten much out of them. Their usual response is the patch was released, see the blog post. I got a ticket at one point and the rep finally admitted that the DTEK60 update had not been released even though the blog post stated otherwise.

So where is this screen shot of you August update. Seriously, that is intriguing. Do you really have the August 2017 update on a BlackBerry Android phone?

It seems that's the device they care about, with the Priv receiving most if not all of the scraps. Alas.

At least the Priv is still getting fed 😃 haha. Maybe we can put all those scraps together and build Nougat for the Priv? #PipeDream

    I don't think so.

By the way, would you happen to have the PRD number for your phone handy? It's used in how the phone checks for updates. It should be somewhere on the box, near the IMEI/serial label.
