Since the August bulletin is the last mention of Marshmallow, this is presumably the end of the line for the DTEKs getting patches. They didn't quite make it to 24 months (23 1/2), but it's better than some Priv variants.

Assuming the DTEK50 gets this as well, that will be 18 patches for the DTEK60, and 22 patches for the DTEK50 over their lives (24 and 26 months respectively).

Think that the Dtek50 will get ZERO, (today the 23rd, and nil to date) in all honesty
Basically looking at a Nokia 8, sensible price, great spec, (similar to Keyone but 50% cheaper) and promised to update to Oreo and Pie, bargain at 249 UK£ for the 64gb model.
BB no longer an acceptable choice I'm afraid...

Since you're looking for a slab, I'm not sure why the KEYx would be on your radar anyway.

Clearly, if the physical keyboard is not your main focus, you'd be wasting your time.

Since their only unique selling point that is both unique and a selling point is the physical keyboard, then you're exactly right for most buyers.

Had BB's since the 8700, and ever since, until the Z10 and Dtek, so though not an 'essential' is something that if available at a 'sensible' price, would buy. Not 'definately' looking for a 'slab', just have the Dtek, because the Priv (which I would have liked) was way out of my price range when released, so chose the Dtek50...
Sadly, the difference between Keyone and similar spec 'non PKB' is about 150 £UK, Almost double the price for something that is 'nice to have' but not the end of the world if not. !!
Whatever I do buy, it will be the first 'non BB' for many, many years....

Playing the niche product game is never cheap. You have to fully buy-in to that niche to make it worth it.

For me, personally, the "extra" £150 amortized over 2 years is a no-brainer.

Fair point, and that's your choice.
I have a fixed income (I am retired) and to pay almost 50% more, just for a PKB is to me, an extravagance that I cannot afford, so, despite wanting to 'fully buy into it' economics decide otherwise. As I said, I like a PKB, but am not 'unable to live without one' and basically, if my phone (whichever brand I buy) makes calls, texts, allows me to browse the internet when I need to, and is reliable and doesn't cost the earth (and need replacing again in 2 years) then that's good enough for me.
Sadly, my criteria for a phone don't match up to yours, (probably neither does my income, either) so, each to his own. I would prefer a BB, but,
    A) there are similar phones cheaper, out there, and
    B) I no longer feel that BB has too much intention on customer support/satisfaction.

I can certainly recommend the Nokia 6.1 and Motorola G6 Plus. Both great midrange slabs.
