Wondering if anyone who has picked up already a DTEK60 could tell me if there are any overheating issues like on the priv, excluding times when it's updating

None whatsoever; it got hot enough to shut down charging during initial setup, but that was a transfer from my Priv and it was loading ~100+ apps. Since then nope, not even during the installation of the latest update (which incidentally showed up right on time with the monthly security patch.)

i have had mine since Friday.....have gone thru both initial setup (restoring from another android phone and adding 7 email accounts including 3 exchange accounts) and yesterday's OS update and have not experienced any excessive heat issues. did the phone get warmer than normal? yes....but no where near as hot as my Priv.

Nice to know it doesn't 'toast' your palms. One less issue for anti-BlackBerry reviewers to cry over.

Nope. I just thought about that the other day. My priv did numerous times. My dtek once. Dtek60 never

I managed to get the phone to slightly warm up once; queueing up a dozen apps from Play while simultaneously setting up a couple cloud storage accounts in Solid Explorer. And it was still cooler than the Priv.

Way cooler than my passport (got a few android appstore running). Got a bit 'warm' when I did the security update but this thing runs like top.

I think it runs very very warm - at times. Not as hot as the Priv, but it is not what I expected, especially reading the posts here. So far, mine hasn't posted any warning about overheating, to be sure but I am not experiencing a device as cool as previous devices (Passport SE, Bold, etc etc etc etc etc)

Nope. If you push it, you can get it warm, but not like Priv shut down levels.

Bla1ze you used to have a Dtek50, any overheating on that model or just as good as the Dteck60. I'm considering buying one for my mother, and she doesn't need high specs.
