[Oops] Blackberry promotes infamous fake BBM review as praise for the new DTEK60
Printable View
No they are mocking BlackBerry's PR department for using a post that was a "mocking comment" as proof of the DTEK60's popularity among it's users.
Every blackberry phone released will definitely be ridiculed by some media. Not surprised.
I hope everyone realizes these Internet bloggers for the most part are just regular people with no more tech knowledge then anyone else. Their opinion is based is whatever bias they may have. Everyone and their dog is now a "blogger" and "expert" .
Well, at least Blackberry articles are being written, and more people is now aware of the new DTEK60
Right...any news is good news if it makes people aware of the device.

They aren't ridiculing the phone or any of the technology. They are (rightfully) making fun of BB's PR department's gaffe:
BlackBerry's blog post is self-congratulatory to the extreme. It's sad and reaching enough all by itself - quoting Twitter, Instagram and blog comments that haven't been verified to be independent is kind of weird. But adding a sarcastic comment referring back to an embarrassing example of a PR gaff just turns the whole thing into a farce.
Agreed ^^^^

Hilarious mistake by Blackberry. Article was pretty balanced. Could have been much more negative.

It was a reach. Who's gonna remember a running joke from three years ago when the PR team has totally been turned over since then? I get why it was posted and you're right, it could have been worse but it shows how much people hunt out things to throw at BlackBerry lol.
Just commented. They should have at least gave us a take on the phone, their posts implies that the phone isnt as good as the claims
Never heard of Android Police before, they're definitely not in the top tier. This thread probably gave them a boost in traffic, lol.
What's funny about the article is that it doesn't acknowledge the potential viral impact. IE. assuming the BB PR department boosted the reviews with a cut and paste... Once someone noticed, it became funny for people to add to the pile. Anyway, that's my sense.
In the end, it's just another deliberate clickbait article to boost traffic / ad revenue. Now they can go back to being an irrelevant site,. :)
In any case, good spot to close this one. Nothing good will really come of this thread lol.
