    I just formatted and added a new SD card to add memory..i don't know what happened during the process..the new SD card is working , , but 90% of my photos disappeared.. I checked in the new card ,in google photo app..no luck..

    I do remember it asked me if i wanted to free up space and I accepted. Could my photos have been deleted??

    Yes. "Free up device storage" removes photos (and videos) that are already backed up from your device. That's how it reclaims space for you.

    Should be backed up on the google cloud I would assume.

    Thanks for your replies..i checked on cloud..they are not there , , how could they have disappeared into thin air..?
