KEYᵒⁿᵉ updates beginning shortly. Maybe later today.

DTEK50 has usually been first, but I guess not this time.

How much longer do you all think we will keep getting monthly updates on DTEK50 and DTEK60?

DTEK50 is more than a year old at this point and there are no signs of a newer model, though I was hoping they'd do the same again this year, just give us a BlackBerry version of Alcatel Idol 5S. I like the look of that phone, just slightly different than last year's model.

It's called the Motion. Half way between the 50 and 60, with a much better camera, and a huge battery.

I think we'll see patches into next year until Google stops M updates in the spring or summer.

If we get them within the next week, I would say yes. I'm very satisfied with two weeks from security bulletin.

@BBSIRT hasn't posted any October updates yet. Odd as usually they tweet an update is available within the first week of each month.

I'm referring to the Android bulletin.

My KEYone black edition has a hardware build date of Sept 13, 2017 and it shipped with the Sept 5, 2017 patch already installed. How's that for promptness?

It seems when it comes to BlackBerry security updates, it's all about what model you have. Some consistency across the board would certainly be welcome...but not likely or even realistic, with three out of production units by BlackBerry, three licensees, and umpteen different variations of licensee devices.

So the basic Android update is available, we are referring to the BB version, which is ALWAYS late.
Just because Android bulletin says its released bears no relationship to BB making THEIR's available (if they have even bothered to adapt it!)
You will be lucky to see it next week, that's for sure!!

I don't care about a memo from BlackBerry on the subject. It's basically just a re-tweet of the Android bulletin anyway.

October updates have already started with the KEYᵒⁿᵉ, so patches are obviously in no way contingent on whether or not BlackBerry publishes a bulletin.

Not sure I want the Oct security update until the BBID BBM issue gets sorted out.

Just got the October 5th update AAP623 after doing a manual check. It was over 134mb and took a while to install. Some of my previously installed apps were temporarily grayed out and unavailable but later returned to normal. Anyway, it's good that the DTEK50 is still receiving updates despite all the uncertainty expressed in the forums.

Is your phone locked or unlocked? Just curious as to when I could possibly expect an update on my locked to Telus phone. Thx

Unlocked from Amazon.com so the update is likely pushed directly from BlackBerry servers. You may have to wait on Telus approved updates for your phone.
