    My teenage son finds my Classic to be the weirdest phone ever. He has repeatedly told me that BlackBerry "sucks". So, thank you Shop BlackBerry for dropping the price on the DTEK50. I bought him one this week for Xmas.

    He will probably freak out until he realizes it is an Android phone. Should make for a good Xmas morning photo.

    He should be happy no matter what you buy seeing as you're paying for his smartphone and probably his cell phone bill too!

    I have two kids. When they start paying, they can get whatever phone they want.

    Are you sure that isn't my teenage son!? Ditto over here. Endless conversations comparing BlackBerry to Android. Husband and I both just got DTEKs so we are an android family now but a proud BlackBerry one. Son has a oneplus3 which is a pretty impressive phone but I'll take a BlackBerry any day over it.

    I'm 18 and I thought Blackberry wasn't a great phone because it's target used to be for business people. But when I read the reviews for the Priv and was pretty impressed that it's doing so well for Android powered Blackberry. I struck up a deal with my dad and I got the DTEK50. Using this phone and although it has some problems I love it. The phone is way better than what other companies offer as a mid tier phone. This is a great phone for a decent price. And it's for everyone not just business people.

    I could've written the initial post. My 16-year-old has a Z30, and while he was happy with the big screen and the fast browser 2 years ago, he now needs apps, especially Snapchat. So I got him a DTEK50 for Christmas - he'll be thrilled.

    Same, one of my teens bought one already, the other is getting one for Christmas, they both love the 50.

    As an update, the DTEK 50 was a hit. However, it took a little time for him to get over the fact that it was a Blackberry. He already bought an SD memory card for it on Boxing Day.
