Your apps and most settings, with the exception of login info should be backed up to Google Play.

Data can be backed up in many different ways.

If you like backup to your computer, how about backing up to Microsoft OneDrive, then synchronizing Onedrive to your computer?

Photos can be automatically backed up to Onedrive by enabling the "Camera Roll" setting.

I use as many synchronizing capabilities as I can for my data backups, including calendar, contacts and tasks...even my fuel mileage app!

Critical data is synchronized using the Canadian Company www.sync.com

Perhaps this is silly, or most of you have done so already, but I do recommend a reboot. At least 3 updates (a combination from my Priv and DTEK50) have not appeared until I have rebooted my device. Strange, but true.

I just rebooted my device. It's a DTEK50. And I checked for updates. Nothing new.

I got the update early this month, last month wasn't so lucky, fail to understand/comprehend the geographic discrimination there must be some issue

It would be ingenious to also allow manual downloads that can be verified(via checksum md5 or Sha) which anyway happens via OTA updates after download - so we can just download the patch manually and install

I'm sure there is some genius here in the forum that can shed some light on that

In the mean time , after reading that article, guess I have my fingers crossed
